  • CCC Preschool to host open house Thursday

    TELL CITY – The Community Christian Church Preschool will open registration for the 2012-13 school year at its open house from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday.
    Parents will have the opportunity to tour the preschool, visit classrooms, review the curriculum, meet the staff and take advantage of early enrollment. A registration fee is due at time of enrollment.
    The school is located at 821 10th St., in Tell City. For more information, call the office from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday at 547-7486 or contact Karen Lawalin at 719-1232.

  • Glory Bees artists showcased

    Glory Bees Preschool held an art show recently, with students making one-of-a-kind art creations to place on display.

    All students received ribbons for participation. Winners were Clara Foertsch, first place in Lesa Ammon’s classroom; Ashton Williams, first place in Robyn Novak’s class; Chloe Rudolph, best of show from Novak’s class and Kya Smith, first place from Cortney Cail’s classroom.

    Renaissance yard sale Saturday
    TELL CITY – The Tell City Junior-Senior High School Renaissance Yard Sale will be held from 6 a.m. to noon Saturday in the Bryan Taylor Sports Arena.
    The public can enter through Gate 3.
    All proceeds will go toward student recognition for academic, athletic and co-curricular activities.

  • Glory Bees learn about healthy teeth

    To celebrate Dental Health Month, Glory Bees Preschool students welcomed Beth Jordan from Butler Family Dentistry. She taught the children about the right way to brush their teeth, to have regular dental checkups and about the right things to eat.

  • Tots Lots Preschool accepting students for 2012-13 school year

    TELL CITY – Tots Lots Preschool has begun enrollment for the 2012-13 school year. For a child to be eligible for the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday session, he or she must be 4 years old by Aug. 1. The session meets from 8 to 11:30 a.m.
    For a child to be eligible for the Monday and Tuesday session, he or she must be 3 years old by Aug. 1. This session is held from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

  • Glory Bees 2012-13 enrollment open

    TELL CITY – Glory Bees Preschool, a ministry of the First Baptist Church of Tell City since 1986, is accepting applications for the 2012-13 school year. 
    The preschool provides a Christian educational experience through Bible stories, songs and Christian character building. The curriculum incorporates kindergarten readiness skills, social and communication skills, community field trips, guest readers, community guests and a reading-incentive book club.

  • Kindergarten enrollment at WTE set

    TELL CITY – Kindergarten enrollment for the Tell City-Troy Township School Corp. will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. March 8 for all children entering school for the first time. Parents and children should enter through the main door and follow signs. All children registering for kindergarten will be given a folder of information.

  • PC students top stock market game

    LEOPOLD – The sixth graders at Perry Central participated in the stock market game and placed first and second within the region. The students started with a virtual cash account of $100,000 and strived to create the best-performing portfolio using a live trading simulation.

    They worked together in teams, practicing leadership, organization, negotiation and cooperation as they competed for the top spot. To build a portfolio, students had to research and evaluate stocks and then make buying, selling, and trading decisions based upon what they learned.

  • Goffinet named to KWC fall 2011 president’s, dean’s list

    OWENSBORO, Ky. – Kentucky Wesleyan College recently announced the names of students earning spots on the dean’s and president’s lists for the fall 2011 semester.
    To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must attain a grade-point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale while having at least a 12-hour class schedule. The president’s list honors superior academic achievement. To be eligible, students must attain a 4.0 grade-point average.
