TELL CITY – Students at Tell City Junior-Senior High School were recently given the opportunity to learn more about careers in the energy industry.
Dennis Liechty, program chair in Advanced Manufacturing at Ivy Tech Community College in Evansville, visited to discuss the educational partnership between the school, power plants and contractors in the region.

By participating in the festival, students hoped to give children an opportunity to have fun playing cornhole for a prize, while raising community awareness on two issues they thought needed to be addressed. AfterSchoolRocks is a program of Lincoln Hills Development Corporation’s Youth Service Bureau. Adult-ed classes begin Wednesday at Ivy Tech
TELL CITY – Thinking about your future? What about getting that GED or heading to college or a new job?
Adult education classes begin today Ivy Tech Community College in Tell City and will run until Dec. 15.
Classes will improve students’ math and English skills, add a GED to students’ resumes, help them prepare for post-secondary training and increase their wage-earning potential.
Classes are free and will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. – Richard Gill, a former Perry Central counselor, retired Sept. 1 after 30 years in public school education.
The educational leader was recently the principal of West Forsyth High School in Forsyth County, a school that he started in 2007.
Prior to his tenure at West Forsyth, Gill served as principal at South Forsyth High School from 2001-06, where he began the scholastic institution’s international baccalaureate program.
