  • Etienne attends Molecular Medicine In Action Seminar at Indiana University

    TELL CITY – Ariel Etienne, a student at Tell City Junior-Senior High School, was one of a select group of students who attended the March Molecular Medicine In Action program at Indiana University School of Medicine.

    This year 50 of Indiana’s best high-school science students were selected – from 220 applicants – for the two-day program, during which they worked alongside top research scientists learning hands-on laboratory techniques used in modem biomedical research.

  • Glory Bees track and field day

    A track and field day was held May 4 at Legion Field for Glory Bees Preschool students. Children enjoyed a fun day of running races, participating in the long jump and a softball throwing contest. All students were rewarded for their success with medals and ribbons. The events ended with students and their family members taking a lap around the track.

  • Tell City seniors to be honored

    TELL CITY – Tell City Junior-Senior High School will host a senior awards program at 1 p.m. Sunday in the school’s auditorium.
    In addition to awarding all scholarships, other prestigious honors will be presented.
    All graduates and their families, along with community members, students and staff are invited and encouraged to attend this important event.
    Some of the awards are confidential until announced at the program; therefore, students who may not be expecting an award still might receive one.

  • PC’s Up in One, Down in None students

    LEOPOLD – Perry Central Elementary School recently named their Up in One, Down in None students. The Captains Club rewarded students who raised at least one grade without letting any others fall, as well as any straight A students, with a pizza party.

  • Second-semester celebration at Cannelton

    CANNELTON – Cannelton elementary schools will hold the annual second-semester celebration assembly at 8:45 a.m. Thursday, May 26 in the Cannelton Community Center.
    Parents, friends, relatives and community members are invited to attend and help celebrate the end of our school year.
    Awards and certificates will be awarded and there will be a guest speaker.
    The students will also have a musical presentation.

  • Head Start students focus on dental health

    Children at the Lincoln Hills Development Corp. South Perry Head Start Classroom 1 enjoyed activities that centered around dental health during February. The children brushed boiled eggs that had been soaked in soda so they could see the benefits of brushing their teeth.   • William Tell earns honors at constitution contest in Indianapolis

    INDIANAPOLIS – Fifth-graders at William Tell Elementary School achieved an “excellent” ranking in a We the People elementary showcase May 9 at the Union Station conference center in Indianapolis.

    The Indiana Bar Foundation hosted the competition for students to demonstrate their knowledge of the U.S. Constitution after a semester of study in their social studies classes.

    Tell City’s After Prom this year was held in the auxiliary gym and took place from 12:30 to 3:30 a.m. The theme was casino with blackjack and poker tables set up to play.
