  • Kleeman named to UE dean’s list

    EVANSVILLE – Dylan Kleeman of Tell City was named to the dean’s list of the University of Evansville for the spring semester of 2011. He is enrolled in the College of Engineering and Computer Science.
    Kleeman is a 2009 graduate of Tell City High School He is the son of Paul and Candie Kleeman of Tell City.

  • Riley earns degree from U of I

    INDIANAPOLIS – Cassandra Michelle Riley participated in her commencement ceremony Nov. 8, 2010, at the University of Indianapolis.
    She received her associate’s degree in culinary arts.

    Riley graduated with honors May 16, 2010 from the Chef’s Academy located in downtown Indianapolis. The academy is a division of Harrison College, formerly Indiana Business College. While studying business and culinary skills, she maintained a 3.5 grade-point average and was on the dean’s list several quarters.

  • Kast named to ISU dean’s list

    TELL CITY – Jeffrey Andrew “Andy” Kast of Tell City has been named to the dean’s list in the Indiana State University’s College of Science for outstanding scholarship during the spring 2011 semester.

    He was also inducted into Phi Kappa Phi, an academic honor society in which membership is by invitation only and is restricted to students ranked scholastically in the top of their class, regardless of field of study.

  • William Tell Elementary encourages students to walk to school

    TELL CITY – Staff and teachers of William Tell Elementary are making efforts to get students to utilize new sidewalks along Tell Street leading to the school.
    A supervisor will be at the Tell City-Perry County Public Library at 7 a.m. each school day starting Aug. 17 to supervise students as they are dropped off between 7 and 7:20 a.m. The group of students will then depart from the library at 7:20 a.m. for the school. Walking will occur rain or shine, so parents are asked to make sure children are dressed appropriately.

  • ‘Stuff the Bus’ returns Friday, Saturday

    PERRY COUNTY – United Way of Perry County will sponsor the fifth Stuff the Bus school-supply drive Friday and Saturday for area students in need. United Way, Wal-Mart and area volunteers will once again join together to solicit donations.
    The hope is to increase donations this year due to the continued need in the community, organizers said. United Way will be “Stuffing the Bus” Friday and Saturday at the Tell City Wal-Mart.

  • William Tell Elementary announces school-supply list

    TELL CITY — William Tell Elementary School class supply lists for kindergarten through sixth grade has been announced.

    Kindergarten: one dry erase eraser; 70-page spiral notebook; two pink Pearl erasers; six folders with pockets; Lysol wipes; a backpack; Crayola markers; two family-size boxes of Kleenex tissue; one package of Expo dry erase markers; three-ring binder, 11⁄2 inch with clear, plastic pocket on front.

  • State assistance information for parents available at TC schools

    TELL CITY – Any parents who intends to apply for state assistance for a child or children are urged by the school corporation to apply prior to the first day of school, which will allow applications to be processed prior to the start of school.
    Applications can be completed during bookstore hours Aug. 9, 10, and 11 from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. at both William Tell Elementary and Tell City Junior-Senior High School. Both offices will be closed for lunch each day from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

  • William Tell Elementary releases back-to-school info for parents

    TELL CITY – All pre-kindergarten through sixth grade parents are asked to visit William Tell Elementary during bookstore-registration hours from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 9, 10 or 11. Parents can take care of textbook rental fees, update student information and any transportation questions can be addressed at this time.
    Families of the William Tell Elementary community are invited to attend a back-to-school cookout to be held on the school grounds from 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 8.

  • Tell City Junior-Senior High School opening, registration information

    TELL CITY – Students in seventh through 12th grades who are new to the Tell City-Troy Township School Corp. are asked to come to Tell City Junior-Senior High School for enrollment purposes Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 3 and 4 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. The offices will be closed for lunch from 11:30 until 12:30 p.m. each day.

    CANNELTON — Cannelton Elementary School class supply lists for pre-kindergarten through fifth grade has been announced.

    Pre-kindergarten: one backpack-large enough to hold folders, no wheels; one blanket and one mat or two blankets for quiet-time; one large box of family-sized tissues; one box of eight Crayola markers; one box of quart or gallon baggies; Expo brand only-four pack of dry erase markers; any size tip. Please get only the items on the list-all other items will be provided.
