  • William Tell Elementary releases back-to-school info for parents

    TELL CITY – All pre-kindergarten through sixth grade parents are asked to visit William Tell Elementary during bookstore-registration hours from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 9, 10 or 11. Parents can take care of textbook rental fees, update student information and any transportation questions can be addressed at this time.
    Families of the William Tell Elementary community are invited to attend a back-to-school cookout to be held on the school grounds from 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 8.

  • Tell City Junior-Senior High School opening, registration information

    TELL CITY – Students in seventh through 12th grades who are new to the Tell City-Troy Township School Corp. are asked to come to Tell City Junior-Senior High School for enrollment purposes Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 3 and 4 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. The offices will be closed for lunch from 11:30 until 12:30 p.m. each day.

    CANNELTON — Cannelton Elementary School class supply lists for pre-kindergarten through fifth grade has been announced.

    Pre-kindergarten: one backpack-large enough to hold folders, no wheels; one blanket and one mat or two blankets for quiet-time; one large box of family-sized tissues; one box of eight Crayola markers; one box of quart or gallon baggies; Expo brand only-four pack of dry erase markers; any size tip. Please get only the items on the list-all other items will be provided.

  • Cannelton high school registration ends today

    CANNELTON – Cannelton Junior-Senior High School will hold the last day of registration today from 9 am. to noon.
    Book rental prices for sixth grade is $56 and for seventh and eighth grade, $67.
    Book rental prices for ninth through 12th grades will vary according to each student’s schedule.

  • Johnson named to dean’s list

    NEW ALBANY – In recognition of her outstanding academic achievement, Kailey A. Johnson has been named to Indiana University Southeast spring 2011 dean’s list.

    Eligibility for the dean’s list is reserved for those students who complete at least 12 graded credit hours in a semester, earning at least a 3.7 grade-point average.

  • Cannelton to register students today, Tuesday

    CANNELTON — Registration for Cannelton elementary students will be from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. today and from 1 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Registration will be at the Myers Grade School cafeteria for grades prekindergarten through fifth grade.
    The back-to-school Kid’s Fest will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Cannelton Community Center.

  • Operation Round Up grant, scholarships awarded

    TELL CITY – Southern Indiana Power has awarded an Operation Round Up grant and scholarships. Cooperative members taking part in the program voluntarily allow Southern Indiana Power to round up their electric bill to the next whole dollar. The “change” is then placed in a trust fund for distribution to philanthropic organizations or for quality of life improvement purposes in the Southern Indiana Power service area.

  • Braun attends Purdue entrepreneurship academy

    TELL CITY – Rachel Braun, a senior this fall at Tell City High School, participated this summer at Purdue University’s-Purdue Research Park Entrepreneurship Academy, earning a $500 Purdue University voucher, which can be used toward tuition costs.
    Her team of five placed first in the week-long academy. Teams were given high-tech business case studies. The teams tested the business’ viability, determined capital needs, and devised management plans. She was chosen as one of only 51 students from across the state of Indiana.

    CANNELTON – Cannelton Junior-Senior High School will hold registration July 26-28.
    Times are as follows:
    July 26 – 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    July 27 – 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    July 28 – 9 a.m. to noon
    Book rental prices for sixth through eighth grades are waiting on board approval, but will be sent out as soon as possible.
    Book rental prices for ninth through 12th grades will vary according to each student’s schedule.
