  • Cain earns degree from IU

    BLOOMINGTON – Courtney Marie Cain graduated May 9 from Indiana University with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science. Her degree’s focus was on medical sciences.

    A 2010 graduate of Tell City High School, the graduate is the daughter of David and Cindy Cain of Tell City.

    While at IU, she worked under world-wide known researcher Dr. Timothy Mickleborough on his research for the American Diabetes Association.

  • Tell City Jr.-Sr. High School names honor roll students

    TELL CITY – Tell City Junior-Senior High School has released the honor roll for the fourth quarter of the 2014-15 academic year.

  • Perry Central releases fourth nine weeks honor roll

    LEOPOLD – Perry Central Junior-Senior High School has released the honor roll for the fourth nine weeks of the 2014-15 academic year.

    To be named to the list, students must earn a 3.5 grade-point average or higher on a 4.0 scale.

  • Perry Central earns Early College award

    LEOPOLD – Perry Central Junior-Senior High School has been recognized as an Emerging Early College High School by The Center of Excellence in Leadership of Learning.

    The Early College High School model gives students a head start on the rest of their lives. Schools following the Early College framework allow students to earn both a high school diploma and up to two years toward an associate or bachelor’s degree. While open to all students, the model specifically serves low-income, first-generation, middle-performing and other underserved students. 

  • Kloeppel named Alden Scholar, earns bachelor’s

    MEADVILLE, Pa. – Tim Kloeppel graduated May 9 from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pa., with a bachelor’s degree in international studies and a minor in German language. Kloeppel earned cum laude honors for maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.56.

    He was named an Alden Scholar, the college’s equivalent of the dean’s list, for four consecutive years.

  • Jasper Engines awards Alyssa Underhill 2015 scholarship

    JASPER – Jasper Engines & Transmissions announced Alyssa Underhill as winner of its annual scholarship program. Applicants must be dependent children of full-time Jasper associates. A rating system of several criteria is used to determine recipients.

    Underhill is a graduate of Perry Central High School. She plans to attend the University of Southern Indiana, where she’ll study ultrasound radiology. She is the daughter of Brian and Wanda Underhill.  Brian is a service technician in the service department at Jasper’s Crawford County facility.

  • Cannelton High School releases honor rolls

    CANNELTON – Cannelton High School has released the names of students earning honors for term two, grading period two, and term two final.

    High honor-roll students earned a 4.0 grade-point average. Honor-roll students earned a 3.15 or higher and honorable mention students earned a 3.12 or higher.

  • Area students earn degrees, honors from U of E

    EVANSVILLE – The following local students earned positions on the University of Evansville dean’s list for academic achievements during spring semester: Ian Bashor of Branchville, mechanical engineering major and Mary Burst, psychology major; Jordan Heck, legal studies major; Charissa Lahee, health services administration major; Hunter Sandage, elementary education major and Kayla Seifert, visual communication design major, all of Tell City.

    To make the dean’s list, students must earn at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
