  • USI, Trilogy embark on unique public-private partnership

    EVANSVILLE – The University of Southern Indiana’s Center for Healthy Aging and Wellness announces its first public-private partnership to increase educational and career opportunities for students interested in working with older adults. Trilogy Health Services has committed $50,000 to fund six annual scholarships for USI undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of clinical and non-clinical disciplines.

  • Tell City High School students to take the Polar Plunge Feb. 4

    TELL CITY – Tell City Junior-Senior High School students will run into an icy cold lake in Boonville Feb. 4, to raise money for Special Olympics Perry County.

    The Polar Plunge team needs community support. It’s much easier to help out financially than to run into an icy, cold lake.

    Cannelton Junior-Senior High School has released its final honor rolls for the first grading period of the 2016-17 school year.

  • Local students make U of E dean’s list

    EVANSVILLE – The following local students earned a position on the University of Evansville Dean’s List for academic achievements during the fall semester 2016. To make the Dean’s List, a student at UE must earn at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

    • Kayla Seifert of Tell City, majoring in visual communication design

    • Amber Schulthise of Tell City, majoring in English education

    • Hunter Sandage of Tell City, majoring in criminal justice

  • Perry Central winter homecoming 2017 candidates

    PERRY CENTRAL – The 2016-17 Perry Central Basketball Homecoming Ceremony will be held between games of the boys’ varsity/junior varsity basketball game vs. Southridge this Friday evening, Jan. 13. The junior varsity game begins at 5:30 p.m. Their fellow senior classmates selected the queen and king candidates. The entire high school student body chose the queen and king.

    PERRY COUNTY – Adding funding to expand preschool programs in public schools is a hot topic for legislators as they begin work in the general assembly. While fully funded programs may not be in the cards for the immediate future, the discussion does give opportunity to look at a few key components of what’s being asked.

  • Perry Central pre-school and kindergarten roundup set to begin February

    LEOPOLD – Perry Central Elementary is accepting enrollment for Preschool and Kindergarten 2017-18 school year. There are two opportunities to enroll, the first will be Feb. 16-17 and the second enrollment date will be in April. Information will be sent out again prior to second enrollment.

    Children who will be 4 by Aug. 1, are eligible to attend preschool and children who will be 5 by Aug. 1, are eligible for kindergarten.

    Preschool round-up will be Friday, Feb. 17, and kindergarten round-up will be held on Thursday, Feb. 16.
