  • Goffinet recognized for achievements

    TELL CITY – Lauren Goffinet, a 2009 graduate of Tell City High School, was named to the president’s and dean’s lists of Kentucky Wesleyan College for the spring 2012 semester.

    The president’s list honors superior academic achievement, and students must attain a 4.0 grade-point average while being enrolled as a full-time student. The dean’s list recognizes students who attain a GPA of at least 3.5. Goffinet has been named to the president’s list five times and the dean’s list six times.

  • Early Head Start finds home in historic Tell City building

    TELL CITY – Lincoln Hills Development Corp. officials and approximately 150 guests celebrated the opening of the new Perry County Early Head Start offices May 24 at 321 Ninth St., in Tell City.

    The facility is the former Coca-Cola Bottling Company, and LHDC recently completed a major rehabilitation and renovation of this historic building, including the construction of offices to house the Early Head Start program and staff.

  • Henning earns academic honors from Hanover

    TELL CITY – Tyler Henning, a 2008 graduate of Tell City High School, has been placed on the dean’s list at Hanover College in Hanover for the 2012 fall and winter-spring terms.
    For a student to be eligible for the dean’s list at Hanover College, they must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

    LEOPOLD — Perry Central Elementary School announces the following students were named to the school’s honor roll for the last quarter:

  • Getting their hands dirty

    Children at the Lincoln Hills Development Corp. Perry County Head Start Home Base enjoyed activities about nature during April and May.

    Students participated in an activity from the socialization included investigating how plants grow. They were also able to explore different seeds and soils.   • A day at the museum

    Students of Lincoln Hills Development Corp. Perry County Head Start Home Base enjoyed activities about the community during June.

    They took a field trip to the Owensboro Museum and were able to examine exhibits such as a mammoth skeleton and an underground coal mine.

  • Lippelt earns master’s degree at Mount Mary

    LEOPOLD – Robyn (Rennie) Lippelt, originally from Leopold, graduated May 19 from Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, Wis., with a master’s degree in occupational therapy. She works and lives in Indianapolis.

    Lippelt is a 2005 graduate of Perry Central High School and a 2009 graduate of Purdue University.
    She is the daughter of Randy and Teresa Rennie of Leopold.

  • Tell City students recognized at annual honors banquet

    TELL CITY – Tell City Junior-Senior High School hosted its annual honor program May 14. There were 111 students who were recognized at the program, which was held in the school auditorium.
