  • Tots Lots Preschool announces enrollment, open house set for Wednesday

    TELL CITY – Tots Lots Preschool has begun enrollment for the 2013-14 school year.
    For a child to be eligible for the Wednesday, Thursday, Friday session, he or she must be 4 years old by Aug. 1. The session meets from 8 to 11:30 a.m. For a child to be eligible for the Monday and Tuesday session, he or she must be 3 years old by Aug. 1. This session meets from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

  • Stepping Stones accepting new students

    LEOPOLD — Stepping Stones Preschool, located in the St. Augustine Catholic Church Parish Hall basement, is accepting registrations for the 2013-14 school year. The preschool seeks to provide a positive educational experience for 3- and 4-year-olds, preparing them for elementary school.

  • Perry Central plans annual roundup dates

    LEOPOLD – Perry Central is accepting registrations for preschool and kindergarten students for the 2013-14 school year. Children who will be 4 years old by Aug. 1 are eligible to attend preschool. Children who will be 5 years old by Aug. 1 are eligible for kindergarten.
    Preschool roundup will be held April 19. Roundup for kindergarten students who do not currently attend preschool at Perry Central will be held April 26.
    Students who currently attend Perry Central preschool will automatically be registered for kindergarten next year.

  • Wilson graduates USI

    DALE – Michelle Renee Wilson of Dale graduated Dec. 8 from the University of Southern Indiana with a degree in psychology. She maintained a 4.0 grade-point average and was listed on the dean’s list each term she was enrolled. She graduated cum laude.

    Since graduation, Wilson has been working at Southwestern Behavioral Healthcare in Evansville.
    She is the daughter of Jeff Wilson of Jasper and Joyce Beard of Dale. She is the granddaughter of Kermit and Lena Wittman of Evanston.

  • Kentucky Wesleyan to host spring open house, scholarship weekend

    OWENSBORO, Ky. – Kentucky Wesleyan College will hold a spring open house from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m.
    Students will have the chance to experience the excitement of college life at Kentucky Wesleyan. The open house includes tours of the campus and opportunities for students and their families to get information on the more than 40 academic and pre-professional programs available, financial aid and scholarship opportunities, student life at KWC, NCAA college athletics and more.

    Ward named orientation leader at U of E
    EVANSVILLE – The University of Evansville has announced that Jessa Ward of Leavenworth has been named an orientation leader for the 2013-14 academic year.
    Ward, a graduate of Crawford County Junior-Senior High School, is majoring in mechanical engineering.
    In this volunteer position, she will guide new UE students through the transition into college.

  • SonShine round up, open house Feb. 27

    NEW BOSTON – The preschool class of SonShine Early Learning Ministry invites families to their pre-school round up and open house from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 27.

    The school is located just west of New Boston. Anyone interested in enrolling their 3 to 5 year old in the preschool program or would like to tour the daycare are asked to plan to attend this event.
    Families will hear how students enjoy their learning centers, going on field trips and learning about the Bible.

  • Cannelton readers treated to pizza

    A number of Cannelton students were honored with a pizza party with Elementary Principal Roger Fisher recently. The students earned the party after achieving or surpassing their Accelerated Reader goals.

    Baker named to EKU dean’s list
    RICHMOND, Ky. – Jamie Lea Baker of Tell City is one of 2,901 Eastern Kentucky University students who earned Dean’s List honors for the fall 2012 semester.
    She is a junior athletic training major at EKU.
    To achieve dean’s list honors at Eastern, students attempting 14 or more credit hours must earn a 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0. Students attempting 13 credit hours must earn a 3.65 GPA, and students attempting 12 credit hours must earn a 3.75 GPA.
