  • Marksmen marching band state-finals bound

    TELL CITY – The Tell City Marching Marksmen will continue their successful season all the way to Indianapolis. With a top-10 finish last weekend at the semistate competition at Franklin High School, the band earned a spot to the state finals Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium.

    It will be the Marksmen band’s first trip to the state finals in nine years, having placed seventh in 2006.

  • Girls LEGO activity set for Nov. 14

    PERRY COUNTY – All girls, kindergarten through fifth grade, in Perry County are invited to explore the LEGO Story Starter, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 14, at William Tell Elementary School in Tell City.

    The LEGO Story Starter set, curriculum and software will help kick-start creativity and boost reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. Participating girls will work together to create and build stories with LEGO bricks and figures and then use LEGO’s StoryVisualizer interactive software to photograph, write, and publish their stories.

    CANNELTON – The Cannelton Jr.-Sr. High School honor roll students for the first grading period in the first term of the 2015-16 school year were:

    Grade 6 high honor roll: Jhett B. Garrett and Devyn Rollie Powers.

  • Tell City inducts new members into National Honor Society

    TELL CITY – Tell City Jr.-Sr. High School is proud to announce 16 juniors were inducted into the Tell City High School chapter of National Honor Society in a ceremony held Thursday, Oct. 15 in the school auditorium.

    The program was led by NHS officers Gant Miller, president; Samantha Allen, vice president; Madison Gilliland, secretary; Reed Goffinet, treasurer; Amy Hackbarth, historian; and Adriana Corso, activities director, along with Brad Ramsey, principal.

  • TC Junior-Senior H.S. plans academic kickoff Oct. 22

    TELL CITY – On Thursday, Oct. 22, the Renaissance Leadership class of Tell City Junior Senior High School will host its annual academic kickoff.

    This year’s theme is “STAR WARS: May the Grades Be With You!”

    The club invites the public to attend and help them in recognizing the students and “staffulty” for their academic achievements, hard work and dedication. If you plan on attending, Renaissance asks you to please sign in with the front office and sit in the balcony of the auditorium.
