  • Manufacturing Night: Building the future at home

    TELL CITY – Students from across Perry County schools came together Wednesday, Oct. 25 at the Ivy Tech Tell City Career and Technology Center for this year’s Manufacturing Night. The building was full to capacity as visitors of all ages streamed in to observe demonstrations by the students and enjoy free food. The evening was the culmination of a great deal of work on the part of students involved in high school technology programs and the Perry County College Success Coalition.

  • Simpson honored as Heisman ‘School Winner’

    TELL CITY – Wendy’s High School Heisman recognizes Leo Simpson, a senior at Tell City Junior-Senior High School as a School Winner. Leo plans to attend Purdue University and major in engineering and also pursue a graduate degree in computer science. He is the son of Kenneth and Sandra Simpson.

  • Perry Central students of the month

    LEOPOLD – Perry Central Jr.-Sr. High School students, Kianna Wright and Cody Guillaume, were recognized as September Student of the Month winners for ‘Problem Solving.’  Prizes, for these students, are sponsored by Marcy’s Restaurant.

  • Students rooted in growing STEM

    Higher concepts of learning driven by a student-driven initiatives in science, technology, engineering and math are feature components of a newly opened tech-based exhibit at William Tell Elementary. On Sept. 14, STEM City at that school was officially dedicated.

  • Accountable learning: school letter grades released

    TELL CITY – The Indiana Department of Education has released the A-F school accountability grades for the 2016-17 school year. This marks the second year of a revamped accountability that tracks student performance and year-to-year growth via state assessment tests, graduation rates and other standards, with a new emphasis that schools incorporate methods that allow students to ‘catch up,’ ‘keep up,’ and ‘move up’ in their performance.
