  • Students rooted in growing STEM

    Higher concepts of learning driven by a student-driven initiatives in science, technology, engineering and math are feature components of a newly opened tech-based exhibit at William Tell Elementary. On Sept. 14, STEM City at that school was officially dedicated.

  • TC Schools parent-teacher conferences upcoming

    TELL CITY – The afternoon and evening of Thursday, Oct. 12, are the designated times for parent-teacher conferences at William Tell Elementary School.  Parents will be notified of their scheduled time by Monday, Oct. 9. 

    If parents need to make any changes with their appointment, they are asked to contact their child’s teacher at (812) 547-9727.

    Students at Tell City Jr.-Sr. High School will receive report cards on Tuesday, Oct.10. Parent-teacher conferences will be held Thursday, Oct. 12 from 4-7:45 p.m.

  • 72nd Cannelton Elementary Fall Festival set for Oct. 25

    CANNELTON – The Cannelton Elementary Parent/Teacher Organization will sponsor its 72nd annual Cannelton Fall Festival from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 25, in the Cannelton Community Center.

    Queen Candidates for this year’s festival are:

  • Accountable learning: school letter grades released

    TELL CITY – The Indiana Department of Education has released the A-F school accountability grades for the 2016-17 school year. This marks the second year of a revamped accountability that tracks student performance and year-to-year growth via state assessment tests, graduation rates and other standards, with a new emphasis that schools incorporate methods that allow students to ‘catch up,’ ‘keep up,’ and ‘move up’ in their performance.

  • Lilly counseling grants to promote student success

    PERRY COUNTY – Tell City-Troy Township School Corp. will receive $147,050 from Lilly Endowment Inc. as part of the endowment’s Comprehensive Counseling Initiative for Indiana K-12 students. Perry Central will receive the same grant in the amount of $117,800.

    The county school districts are two of more than 50 public school corporations and five charter schools in Indiana selected to implement plans to help them meet the complex academic, college, career, and social and emotional counseling needs of their students.

  • Bishop among Commended Students in National Merit Scholarship Program

    LEOPOLD – Principal Jody  French, of Perry Central Junior-Senior High School has announced that Luke Bishop has been named a Commended Student in the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program. 

    A Letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation, which conducts the program, has been presented by the principal to this scholastically talented senior.
