  • Perry County tax sale Aug. 29

    PERRY COUNTY – Perry County will conduct a tax sale on Tuesday, Aug. 29, for delinquent real properties that have taxes and special assessments due from the prior year’s spring installment.

    In Indiana, the county treasurer and auditor are required to sell tax liens on delinquent properties. Perry County will offer these tax sale certificates at a public auction for a minimum bid that is not less than the total amount due in delinquent taxes, costs, special assessments and penalties.

  • Operation Round Up grant applications being taken

    PERRY COUNTY – Thanks to its collective donations Operation Round Up has become a successful way to provide funds to local community programs and projects. The Operation Round Up board of trustees will be accepting applications through Sept. 15.  Disbursement will take place in October.

    Those eligible to apply for funds include groups or organizations located within the Southern Indiana Power service territory which covers the counties of Perry, Spencer and areas in Dubois and Warrick counties. Applicants need not be members of the cooperative.

  • Air Evac Lifeteam sponsors eight critical care paramedics

    TELL CITY – Perry County Memorial Hospital and Emergency Medical Services is proud to announce the graduation of six full-time and two casual Paramedics from the Critical Care Paramedic class sponsored by Air Evan Lifeteam. The class was made available due to a grant awarded from Work1 to ensure all full time staff received this education and their certification test fee was paid for in full. The last step to the class is passing their board certification test through the Board of Critical Care Transport and Paramedic Certification.

    TELL CITY – Active for the past 50 years as a major employer, corporate citizen and economic driver of the area’s economy, Domtar Paper Co. was honored Aug. 10 with the annual business award presented by Schweizer Fest Inc. and the Perry County Chamber of Commerce.

    This year’s testimonial dinner was held at the Tell City Knights of Columbus home. This year marked the first time the award had not been given to a Perry County business, something Perry County Chamber of Commerce Director Wendi Rich said speaks volumes about the company.

  • St. Vincent StatFlight Expands Coverage to Evansville

    EVANSVILLE – This week, St. Vincent officials announced that effective Nov. 1, St. Vincent StatFlight, operated by PHI Air Medical, will become the largest air medical provider in Indiana with the addition of the program’s sixth base in Evansville.

    The new St. Vincent StatFlight base will replace the existing St. Vincent LifeFlight program that has been in service for more than 35 years. St. Vincent is part of Ascension, the nation’s largest Catholic and nonprofit health system.
