  • Branchville announces its final group of Employees of the Quarter of 2016

    BRANCHVILLE – The Branchville Employee Appreciation Team has announced Branchville Correctional Facility’s Employees of the Quarter. 

    • Contractual Employee of the Quarter, Ms. Michelle Dukeman.  She is employed by Guidesoft Knowledge Services Inc. as a secretary.

    She began her career at Branchville in 2016.

    • Custody Employee of the Quarter, Mr. Douglas Maurer. He is a correctional officer at the facility. He began his career with IDOC at Miami Correctional Facility in 2001, and transferred to Branchville in 2012.

  • Huber Funeral Home supports Honor Flight Network

    PERRY COUNTY – Huber Funeral Home, the local Pekin Insurance pre-need agency in Tell City and Cannelton is honoring those who served in the military by supporting the Honor Flight Network, which honors American veterans for all their sacrifices. Huber participated in the annual Tour of Honor Contest sponsored by Pekin Insurance.

  • Indiana NRCS announces EQIP application deadline

    ROCKPORT – Indiana’s agricultural producers who want to improve natural resources and address concerns on their land are encouraged to sign up for the Environmental Quality Incentives Program   through the USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service.

  • SIRS program will combat challenges to employment

    JASPER – Southern Indiana Resource Solutions is one of three collaborating partners to receive a two-year pre-employment Transition grant. The grant focuses on creating positive strategies for students with intellectual and other disabilities. SIRS will implement the grant in Dubois, Perry, Spencer and Warrick County School system.

  • Ivy Tech offering free class on online job applications

    TELL CITY – Ivy Tech Community College’s Tell City site is offering a lunch-time session to help individuals apply for jobs online, on Monday, Jan. 16, from 11:30 a.m.to 1 p.m.

    In this free class, individuals will learn how to attach a file of a resume, copy and paste an entire resume, and enter work history in an online application.  If time allows, tips for building a resume may also be discussed.

  • Hospital announces the arrival of new nurse practitioners, evening clinic hours

    TELL CITY – Perry County Memorial Hospital has announced the addition of three new nurse practitioners, JaeWon Lee and Beth Sharp at Tell City Clinic and Megan Kleemann at Cannelton Clinic.

  • Hoesli partners with Huber

    PERRY COUNTY – Huber Funeral Home is pleased to welcome Jamie Lawson Hoesli to the business. She will serve as a partner in the operation of the Tell City and Cannelton funeral home locations.

    Hoesli has been a funeral director in the Perry County area for over 20 years. She is a 1994 graduate of Tell City High School and a 1997 graduate of Mid-American College of Funeral Service.

  • Jon Hartz retiring, community invited to open house

    TELL CITY – Jon Hartz, Old National Bank operations executive and a Perry County native, is retiring at the end of December after 40 years of dedicated service.

    To celebrate Jon’s retirement, Old National is hosting an open house this Wednesday, Dec. 21, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Tell City Pour Haus, 706 Humboldt St.

    The community is invited to join Jon, his family, friends and co-workers this Wednesday, Dec. 21 as they thank him for his dedication to Old National and Perry County.
