  • TripAdvisor names

    SANTA CLAUS – The world’s largest travel site, TripAdvisor.com, just announced the nation’s top water parks, with Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari very close to the top of that list.

    The 40-acre water park, among the largest in the world, was named the No. 4 park in the nation and No. 13 in the world, following only Orlando parks in the U.S. rankings. According to TripAdvisor.com, the Travelers Choice Awards honor the top one-percent of attractions worldwide.

  • Survey shows holiday cookout costs down

    INDIANAPOLIS – An Independence Day cookout featuring some of Americans’ favorite summer foods – hot dogs, cheeseburgers, ribs, baked beans and other items – will be a little less expensive this year, according to an annual survey from Indiana Farm Bureau.

    Farm Bureau’s informal survey shows the average cost to feed 10 people at a summer cookout is $48.06 – or just over $4.80 per person. This compares to last year’s total of $48.78.

  • Waninger achieves Circle of Success recognition

    TELL CITY– J. Kevin Waninger, a financial advisor with Ameriprise Financial, has qualified for the company’s Circle of Success annual recognition program. Waninger was honored for this achievement at the 2016 National Conference in Las Vegas, Nev. 

    While at the conference, advisors shared best practices with peers and focused on how they can continue to serve clients’ needs with the most current and effective strategies, products and solutions.

    TELL CITY – The Perry County Chamber of Commerce’s annual awards dinner, as it has for several years, honored the efforts of local business and the entrepreneurial spirit that remains strong in the community. But a new award, presented for the first time Tuesday, honored a career of community service provided by a longtime chamber supporter.

    TELL CITY – Perry County Memorial Hospital is proud to announce its achievements in improving the organization’s patient experience scores. The score has steadily improved over the past year and now places PCMH in the top decile of all hospitals in Press Ganey’s national patient experience database.

    TELL CITY - The Perry County Chamber of Commerce held its 15th Annual Business Awards Dinner on Tuesday, June 21, at the Schergens Center in Tell City.

     Businesses, nonprofits and individuals from across the community gathered for the celebratory event.

    TELL CITY – The WorkOne office in Tell City will relocate to the Ivy Tech Campus, located at 1034 31st St. in Tell City. Office hours are Monday, Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

  • Nominations announced for chamber business awards

    TELL CITY – The Perry County Chamber of Commerce has announced nominations for the 2016 Chamber Business Award Dinner scheduled for Tuesday, June 21, at the Schergens Center in Tell City.

    Awards will be given in four categories. Nominees by category are:

    Large business: Waupaca Foundry and Perry-Spencer Communications.

    Small Business: Franzman Insurance, Eagles Wings Zipline, Advanced Rehabilitation Inc., River Pointe and Memorial Health Bristow.

  • Franzman Insurance Recognized By Auto-Owners

    TELL CITY – Auto- Owners Insurance has announced that Franzman Insurance Agency Inc. of Tell City has been named one of the top-10 growth agencies for the company in the state of Indiana for 2015. The agency was recognized at a luncheon meeting in Marion, and at a reception with all regional associates, where they and other recipients were presented with a plaque commemorating their accomplishment.
