  • Jasper Engines announces new chief financial officer, director of operations

    JASPER – Jasper Engines & Transmissions has named Linda Bueltel as chief financial officer and Kevin Powell as the new director of branch operations.

    In her new position, Bueltel will manage the accounting, tax, acquisition and regulatory compliance functions as well as oversee the audit and valuation processes.

    She will work closely with the board of directors, external auditors and operations on reporting the financial results and opportunities to allow Jasper to continue the tradition of building strong relationships with customers and associates.

    PERRY COUNTY – The Perry County Chamber of Commerce has announced a call for nominations for the 2015 Chamber Award Dinner.

    Awards are given in four categories:

    • Large business – 25 or more full-time employees.

    • Small business, fewer than 25 full time employees.

    • Entrepreneurship – someone who has started or is currently running a small business that fills a need in our community.

  • New ownership brings big changes for 2 Sign Guys

    JASPER – As of March 13, 2 Sign Guys is under new ownership. Serice Stenftenagel of Jasper has purchased this longtime area business.

    As owner of Little Si’s Construction and Kreations by Serice, Stenftenagel understands business needs. She has sixteen years combined experience running day-to-day business operations.

  • Thunderbird’s first flight auction to benefit ‘Give Kids the World’

    SANTA CLAUS – With just over a month before the nation’s first launched wing roller coaster opens to the public, Holiday World officials launched a charity auction for the very first public rides.

    “For these historic first rides on our new roller coaster, we decided to auction the specific seats to the highest bidders,” said the park’s president, Matt Eckert. “Thunderbird’s First Flight Auction will benefit a very special organization – Give Kids The World.”

    CANNELTON – Canary Outdoor Power Equipment, a local dealer of Cub Cadet outdoor power equipment located in Cannelton, recently earned distinction as one of the top 75 Cub Cadet independent retailers in the country for 2014. Canary Outdoor Power Equipment received recognition for this achievement during an exclusive trip to the Kauai Marriott Resort in Hawaii.

  • Lutgring joins writing team at Tucker Publishing Group

    EVANSVILLE  – Trista J. Lutgring has been hired to the position of staff writer at Tucker Publishing Group.

    Prior to her affiliation with Tucker Publishing Group, Lutgring worked as a sales representative and feature writer at the Perry County News in Tell City.

    In 2012, she was awarded second place in Best Sports Feature category of the Hoosier State Press Association Better Newspaper Contest.

    She completed her bachelor’s degree in news editorial journalism from Western Kentucky University, in Bowling Green, Ky., in 2008.

  • Kleeman to retire from Lincoln Hills Development Corp. at year’s end

     

    TELL CITY – The longtime director of Lincoln Hills Development Corp. will retire at the end of this year.

    Larry K. Kleeman will be leave his position as executive director and chief executive officer, Clayton Jefford, president of the community action agency’s board of directors announced.
