    Small Business Saturday was created in 2010.  It serves as the ceremonial kickoff to the holiday shopping season for small businesses across the United States.

  • Tech firm to host business solutions forum

    TELL CITY – Small- business owners are invited to attend a seminar to learn how the locally based An Island company and its software, Aiway Cent, can help streamline accounting and productivity.

    Four sessions of their program, Energizing Small/Family Business in Modern Times, will be held Dec. 13 and 14 at 10:30 and 12:30 each day at the Tell City Public Library.

  • TC Schools’ wellness clinic opens

    TELL CITY – A health clinic provided by Perry County Memorial Hospital covering employees and their families at Tell City-Troy Township School Corp. is now open. An open house and Chamber of Commerce dedication was held Thursday at the wellness clinic located at 148 13th St.

    The hope is the new endeavor will improve the overall wellness for those covered by the corporation’s insurance, as well as get those least likely to visit a doctor into the clinic.

  • PC alum among IBJ ‘Women of Influence’

    INDIANAPOLIS – A 1991  Perry Central High School graduate is among six women to grace the cover to the “Indianapolis Business Journal’s” latest edition of Women of Influence.

    Jennifer Alvey, 45, who now serves as senior vice president and chief financial officer of Indiana University Health, is one of 22 women profiled in the Nov. 6 publication.

    According to “IBJ” publisher Greg Morris, the annual recognitions “highlight some of the state’s most successful business women.”

  • Holiday World to add eight slides, wave pool, more

    SANTA CLAUS – Christmas comes early in the town of Santa Claus as Holiday World announces a package full of goodies for their 2018 season.

    “We’re adding a fun elephant-themed water-play area for younger children,” says park president Matt Eckert. “When we discovered the Swahili word for elephant is Tembo, we named our new slide complex Tembo Falls and the junior wave pool Tembo Tides.”

    LEWISPORT – All was quiet in the plant, but there was an ebullient undertone, as top level Aleris officials, customers, suppliers and workers gathered at the company’s Lewisport facility to celebrate the opening of the new aluminum automotive body sheet production facility.

  • Chamber plans holiday retail promotions, giveaways

    PERRY COUNTY – With the holiday season just around the corner, the Perry County Chamber of Commerce is inviting all businesses to join the chamber in its 2017 Hometown Holiday Retail Promotion.  The promotion begins Dec. 2 and ends Dec. 22. Participating businesses will decorate a box to place in their store where shoppers receive one entry for every purchase in store.
