  • Hotel furnisher expands in southwest Indiana

     

    JASPER – Kimball Hospitality Inc., a brand unit of Kimball International, announced plans last month to expand its operations here, creating up to 20 new jobs this year.

    The company, which produces custom furnishings for the global hospitality industry, will invest $932,000 to install advanced manufacturing machinery at its 196,000 square-foot facility in Jasper. The expansion will increase capacity for the company’s case goods furniture product line, which includes program and catalog offerings for hospitality  guestrooms.

  • Jasper Engines announces changes in company leadership

    JASPER – Jasper Engines & Transmissions has announced the following changes within the company’s leadership positions.
    John Schroeder has been named vice president of drivetrain manufacturing. Schroeder will coordinate the transmission divisions at Jasper, Crawford County and Willow Springs, Mo., along with the differential division at the Jasper facility. He has served roles in the Human Resources, Division Manager of Crawford Transmission and the Jasper Production System over his 12 years with the company.

  • Huber Funeral Home helps bring joy to troops serving overseas

    TELL CITY – Huber Funeral Home, a professional Pekin Insurance pre-need agency in Tell City and Cannelton, made the holidays more meaningful and merry to troops overseas by participating in a recent “Care of the Troops with Life” sales contest, a press release stated.
    Fore every life insurance application Huber’s submitted during the contest, monetary funds were donated to the USO Operation Care Package program, whose goal is to support soldiers, marines, sailors and airmen through care packages and letters of encouragement.

    TELL CITY – Massage therapists Ruthie Weatherholt and Leah Robling have joined Domestic Goddess.

    Weatherholt has run Holistic Massage and Body Works for more than 12 years in Tell City. She offers Swedish, stone and pregnancy massages, aroma therapy, LED light therapy, craniosacral therapy and more. She was voted best massage therapist in the Perry County News 2012 Best of contest.

  • Ferdinand Farmers Mutual directors receive professional designations from national grocery

    FERDINAND – Two board members for Ferdinand Farmers Mutual Insurance Co. in Ferdinand received Farm Mutual Director Certification designations from the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies. 
    Jim Kemper and Alan Weyer were among 68 farm mutual directors recognized during NAMIC’s 117th annual convention in September. 
    NAMIC launched the Farm Mutual Director Certification Program in 2007 to recognize farm mutual insurance company board members for their educational accomplishments and their dedication to professionalism.
