  • Mark “Bo” Bozarth, 54

    CANNELTON – Christopher Mark “Bo” Bozarth, 54, passed away Friday, June 22, 2012, at his home in Cannelton. 
    He was born Nov. 24, 1957.

    He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Bo-zarth Bruce and his father, Darrel Shock. 
    Mark enjoyed fishing, reading and partying with friends.

  • Derrick Sandage, 20

    CANNELTON – Derrick S. Sandage, 20, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2012.
    He was born in Perry County March 2, 1992, son of Steve and Diana (Crossley) Sandage. Derrick was preceded in death by his sister, Brandy Tanner; his grandparents, John and Ber-nita Crossley and Ernest and Ruth Sandage.
    He was a 2010 graduate of Cannelton High School, and had worked at Holiday World, Wendy’s, Accent and was working in customer service at Wal-Mart. Derrick was a graduate of Power of Youth of Perry County and was active in Big Brothers-Big Sisters.

  • John Fuchs, 84

    TELL CITY – John W. Fuchs, 84, passed away June 25, 2012, at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City.

    He was born in Louisville, Ky., Oct. 27, 1927.  His parents were the late Joseph and Gertrude (Baunach) Fuchs.
    Also preceding him in death were a sister, Mary Yates and a brother, Joseph Fuchs.
    A U.S. Navy veteran, John married Judy Webb Sept. 4, 1970, in Springfield, Tenn. He retired in 1991 from Perry-Spencer Telephone Co-op, where he was an accountant.
    John was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and enjoyed playing golf.

  • Derrick Sandage, 20 (added June 25)

    CANNELTON – Derrick S. Sandage, 20, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2012.

    He was born in Perry County March 2, 1992, son of Steve and Diana (Crossley) Sandage. Derrick was preceded in death by his sister, Brandy Tanner; his grandparents, John and Bernita Crossley and Ernest and Ruth Sandage.

  • Jody Rutherford, 37

    ORLEANS – Jody H. Rutherford, 37, of Orleans died Saturday, June 16, 2012. 
    She was born in Paoli Dec. 26, 1974, the daughter of Michael and Jamie Wheeler McClintic.

  • Roger Harrison, 57

    TELL CITY – Roger G. Harrison, 57, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012, at his home.
    He was born Nov. 14, 1954, in Tell City, son of Saint Elmore and Anna Mae (Huff) Harrison. 
    He is survived by his mother, Anna Mae Harrison; his brothers, Jesse, Russell and Ronald J. Harrison and sisters Nancy Brown and Martha Blair.
    Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 20, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Burial was in Deer Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastors Donna Lynam and James Snyder officiated.

  • Mary Ann Winchell, 73

    TELL CITY – Mary Ann Winchell, 73, died June 18, 2012, at Memorial Hospital in Jasper.
    She was born in Gerald Nov. 7, 1938.

  • Jennie Baker, 104

    FORT WAYNE – Jennie Olive Baker, 104, passed away early Saturday morning, June 16, 2012, at Woodview Health Care Center in Fort Wayne. 

    Born Feb. 25, 1908, in Tobinsport, Olive descended from early Indiana pioneers and exhibited independence and creativity all her life. She became a teacher after attending Oakland City and Central Normal colleges. Her early teaching included all eight grades in a one-room schoolhouse prior to teaching at the Fort Wayne State School.

  • Brenda Simpson, 59

    TELL CITY – Brenda Gayle Simpson, 59, passed away June 19, 2012, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City.

    She was born in Hancock County, Ky., Dec. 8, 1952.  Her parents were the late Estil and Louise (Young) Dawson.
    Brenda married Thomas E. Simpson Nov. 29, 1969, in Owensboro, Ky. A homemaker, Brenda was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She enjoyed genealogy, traveling to Florida and being outdoors.

  • Irene Lawalin, 74

    CANNELTON – Irene Lawalin, 74, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012, at Golden Living Center-Lincoln Hills.

    She was born Nov. 4, 1937, to the late Homer and Gertrude (Criss) Anderson.
    Irene was married Jan. 21, 1961, to Walter “Curt” Lawalin, who preceded her in death in October 2004.  Also preceding her in death was a grandson, Zachary Brinksneader. 
    Irene was a member of Tell City Church of Christ and enjoyed sewing, dancing, playing euchre and reading.
