  • Thelma Adkins, 94

    CANNELTON – E. Thelma Adkins, 94, of Cannelton, passed away Monday, July 26, 2010, at Eagle Creek Rehabilitation Center in Indianapolis.

    Thelma was born in Lewisport, Ky., June 30, 1916, daughter of the late Estil and Ophelia Roberts Cambron. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James L. Adkins in 1985; her sisters, Edna Coleman, Lillian Lively and Louise Estes and her brother, Iva Cambron.

  • Virginia George, 82

    TELL CITY – Virginia Bolin George, 82, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2010, at Golden Living Center-Lincoln Hills in Tell City.

    She was born in Cannelton, Sept. 9, 1927, to the late Willis and Clara Litherland Bolin. She was married Oct. 23, 1987, to Jim George, who survives. She had worked at Tell City Chair Co. and retired from General Electric in 1988 after 35 years.

    She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Columbia Rebekah Lodge 314 and Moose Lodge of Winter Haven, Fla. She enjoyed dancing, quilting, ceramics, reading and baseball.

  • Mark McManaway, 56

    CANNELTON – Mark “Mac” McManaway, 56, passed away Friday, July 23, 2010, at his home.

    He was born in Perry County, March 11, 1954. His father was the late Chester McManaway and his mother, Delores (Gaynor) McManaway, survives him. Also preceding him in death was a grandson, Joseph Emil Jochem.

  • Anna Pate, 85

    BOONVILLE – Anna T. Pate, 85, died Thursday, July 22, 2010, at the home of her daughter in Tell City.

    She is survived by her daughters, Linda McConnell of Sarasota Fla., Cheryl Hauser of Tell City, Patty McMichael of Boonville and Anieta Ray of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a son, Joe Sharkey of Delaware; 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

  • Mary Kinder, 86 (added July 29)

    TELL CITY – Mary E. Kinder, 86, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

    She was born in Perry County, Oct. 6, 1923, daughter of the late Floyd and Florence (Weatherholt) Kinder.

    She is survived by a sister, Louise Stock; two nieces, Nancy Deeb and Theresa Osborne; three nephews, Michael, John and Joseph Stock and cousins Curt Richey Jr. and James Weatherholt.

  • Larry Harrison, 62 (added July 29)

    ROME – Larry “Rick” Harrison, 62, died July 28, 2010, at his home.

    He was born Nov. 3, 1947, in Rome. His parents were the late Edward and Mabel (Eades) Harrison.

    He is survived by his daughter, Bev Harrison of Troy; a son, Ronald Wayne Harrison of Rome; his sisters, Anna Fay Kellems of Cannelton and Mary Tindle of Tell City; three brothers, Archie Harrison of Tell City and Estil Harrison and Junior Harrison, both of Cannelton; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

  • Charles Lunceford, 69 (added July 29)

    TELL CITY – Charles “Butch” Lunceford, 69, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

    He was born in Lamesa, Texas March 2, 1941, son of the late J.W. Lunceford and Lela Mae (Walsh) Lunceford Oxley. Also preceding him in death was his first wife, Lora Lea Lunceford.

    Chuck was a 1959 graduate of Chrisney High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran before graduating from Northern Michigan University at Marquette.

  • Anton Kern, 83 (added July 29)

    DALE – Anton John “Tony” Kern, 83, of rural Dale died Wednesday, July 28, 2010.

    He was born Nov. 14, 1926, in Dale to the late Ambrose and Augusta (Jochim) Kern.

    He is survived by his wife, Anastasia Kern; his children, Lois Arnold of Mount Carmel, Ill., Donna Kern of Dale, Alan Kern of Huntingburg, Roger Kern of Dale, Dara Elpers of Elberfeld and Tina Rudisill of Newburgh; a sister, Marie Obermeier of Fulda; his brothers, Norman Kern of Jasper and Bill Kern of Ferdinand; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

  • Marilyn Chapman, 71

    NEWBURGH - Marilyn (Peyton) Chapman, 71, of Newburgh, died Monday, July 12, 2010, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville.

    She graduated from Tell City High School in 1956.  

    She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Wendell Chapman; a son Neil Chapman of Newburgh; her daughter, Krista Chapman McFerren of Kansas City, Mo.; five grandchildren; a sister, Lynda Brown of Owensboro, Ky.; her brother, Keith Peyton of Evansville and several nieces and nephews.

  • Anna Pate, 85

    TELL CITY - Anna T. Pate, 85, died Thursday, July 22, 2010, at the home of her daughter, Cheryl Hauser, in Tell City.

    Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Monday, July 26, 2010, at Bradley’s Colonial Chapel in Boonville. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Boonville.

    Visitation was set for 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.
