  • Kenneth Braunecker, 50

    TELL CITY – Kenneth Earl “Kenny” Braunecker, 50, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at Memorial Hospital in Jasper.

    He was born in Tell City, Nov. 11, 1960, to Barbara (Rankin) Gaesser and the late Earl Braunecker. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Larry.
    Kenny was united in marriage Oct. 5, 2002, to Lori Rowe. He was working for WGS in Tell City and enjoyed spending time with his family, performing magic tricks, stamp collecting, fishing and mushroom hunting.

  • Elton Wilson, 37

    CANNELTON – Elton “Biggie” Wilson, 37, of Cannelton passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville.

    He was born April 3, 1973, in Tell City to Ralph Wilson and Deborah (Billings) Wilson.
    He was preceded in death by his father; his grandmother, Norma Wilson and great-grandparents Milton and Edythe Wilson.
    Biggie married Bec Wilson March 25, 2006.
    He loved to spend time with family and friends and to watch Pittsburgh Steelers football and wrestling.

  • Larry Thorpe, 37

    GRANDVIEW – Larry Dale Thorpe, 37, of Grandview, died Saturday, March 12, 2011.
    He was born Jan. 21, 1974, in Owensboro, Ky., to Shannon W. and Mary Thressa (Tindle) Thorpe.
    He is survived by his son, Jerry Thorpe of Tell City; a stepdaughter, Heather D. Huff of Evansville; his father, Shannon W. Thorpe of Tell City; his siblings, Rachel Gibbs of Grandview, Shannon Hoosier of Chrisney, Bertha Blair of Patronville and John Hollenbeck of Rockport and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

  • Clora Mickler, 81

    FRENCH LICK – Clora Ilene Mickler, 81, of French Lick formerly of Paoli, passed away Monday, March 14, 2011, at Medco Health & Rehab in French Lick.

    She was born Sept. 24, 1929, in Columbia, Ky., to Woodford and Mamie (Harvey) Wheet.
    She married Robert (Gene) Mickler July 13, 1966.
    Ilene had worked for General Electric, for the Chat-n-Snack and she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of Christ, which meets in Prospect.
    Ilene was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Mickler, four brothers and three sisters.

  • John Allen, 64

    HARNED, Ky. – John Edward “Eddie” Allen, 64, of Harned passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Ky.

    He was born in Perry County, June 10, 1946, the son of the late William Edward and Allie Mae Nix Allen. He retired from Century Aluminum as an electrician, was a Navy veteran and member of Ephesus Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Eddie enjoyed attending auctions and fishing.
    He was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters, Bobby, Ray and Terry Allen, Freda Lawrence, Sharon Kieser and Judy Zuelly.

  • Winifred Huebschman, 86

    LAFAYETTE – Winifred “Winnie” Huebschman, 86, of Lafayette passed away at 12:18 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at her residence.

    She was born March 29, 1924, in Lamar, to the late Fred and Erma Tableman Frey.
    She graduated from Dale High School and Lockyear Business College in Evansville.
    On June 8, 1946, she married Norwin Huebschman in Lamar. He died Oct. 28, 2009.
    She was a quality control specialist with General Electric for 30 years before retiring in 1974.

  • Norbert Kleeman, 97

    TELL CITY – Norbert A. Kleeman, 97, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City.

    He was born in Tell City, Dec. 10, 1913. His parents were the late Ferdinand and Mathilda (Schneider) Kleeman. Also preceding him in death were a daughter, Imogene Brandel; brothers Edmond, Raymond, Paul and Ambrose Kleeman and great-grandchildren Dalton Crawford and Ariel Bateman.
    Norbert married Lillian Sturgeon Aug. 31, 1941. She passed away in 1993.

    TELL CITY – Lillian Mae Brunson, 87, passed away Friday, March 11, 2011, at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City.

    She was born in Derby, Feb. 21, 1924, to the late John and Ethel (McPeek) Glenn.
    Preceding her in death were her parents and her siblings, Jesse, Harry and Earl Glenn, Mabel Gaither, Mamie Harding, Juanita Persinger and Dorothy Harding.
    She worked for General Electric and was a member of Community of Christ Church.
    She enjoyed fishing and baking.

    TELL CITY – Janice “Schwartzie” Schwartz, 60, passed away Friday, March 11, 2011, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville.

    She was born in Perry County, Nov. 12, 1950, daughter of the late John and Edna (Zoglman) Schwartz.
    A graduate of Chrisney High School and Lockyear College of Business, she worked as a bookkeeper for Adler Food Distributing, Alstadt Office City and was employed at Tell City Wal-Mart.
