    BIRDSEYE - Kenneth Michael "Beeb" Bebee, 57, died at 1:54 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

    He was born July 12, 1950, in Logansport to Vera (Watson) Bebee and the late Doremus Bebee. Also preceding him in death were four brothers and a sister.

    He married Melba Schultz Feb. 12, 1972 at New Hope Baptist Church in Birdseye and was a shovel operator for United Minerals.

    TELL CITY - Joseph R. "J.R." Dixon, 31, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008.

    He was born Feb. 28, 1976, in Perry County to Larry "Joe" Dixon and Pansy (Bolin) Riley. Preceding him in death were his grandfathers, Donald Bolin and Jim Dixon.

    TELL CITY - William "Bill" Allen Hook, 70, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, at Owensboro Medical Health System in Owensboro, Ky.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Allen and Virginia Tindle Hook; a son, Ernest Allen Hook; a grandson, Douglas Ray Faulkenburg and a granddaughter, Christine Carrie Hook.

    A member of Gospel Tabernacle Church in Cannelton, he worked as a welder for 33 years at Maxon Marine in Tell City. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

    TELL CITY - Carroll F. LaGrange, 84 died at 12:25 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City.

    He was born Nov. 28, 1923, in Apalona to the late Levi and Florence (Doogs) LaGrange. Also preceding him in death was a brother, Russell LaGrange.

    BLUFORD, Ill. - James Charles "Jim" May, 43, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

    He was born July 10, 1964, to the late Oscar and Edna Mae (Leupkes) May in Anna, Ill. Also preceding him in death were two half brothers and a nephew, Colten Ray Thurby in infancy.

    WEST CARROLLTON, Ohio - James Charles Grimes, 79, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at the Dayton, Ohio VA Medical Center.

    He was born in Dayton, Ky., June 24, 1928, to the late James W. and Della (Cutter) Grimes. Also preceding him in death was his wife, Mary Grimes.

    Formerly of Tell City, he retired from the Gulf Oil Co., was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the Coast Guard and member of St. Henry Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Moose Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Elks.

    ROCKPORT - Ona Mae Hagan, 93, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2008.

    She was born June 15, 1914, in Spencer County to the late Ira and Rettie (Cockriel) Jones. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Lester "Peck" Hagan; a son, Lester Donald Hagan; two sisters, Lana Shave and Ann Borderwick and two brothers, Vernie and Ivan Jones.

    A member of Oakridge Apostolic Pentecostal Church, she visited and prayed for those in the hospital, nursing homes and shut ins. She enjoyed going to church, praying and reading the Bible.

    HATFIELD - Elizabeth "Betty" Dowell, 76, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at Florida Hospital South in Orlando, Fla.

    She was born Aug. 30, 1931, in Perry County to the late William and Margret (Hubert) Graves. Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Edward and Leo Graves and five sisters, Olive Schellenberg, Mary Mosby, Anna Melton, Agnes Evrard and Marjory Bruggenschmidt.

    She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Rockport.

    HAWESVILLE, Ky. - Eugene "Gene" D. Adkins, 93, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City.

    He was born March 30, 1914, in Utility, Ky., to the late Homer D. and Cleo Brown Adkins. Also preceding him in death were his wife, Gertrude Adkins; a daughter, Joetta Keown; a sister, Nancy Bolin and two brothers, Joe and James Adkins.
