Perry Central pounds Linton for first regional title

LEOPOLD—Grace James’ serving in the third game and Jordan Sprinkle’s spiking in the fourth game propelled Perry Central past Linton-Stockon 23-25, 25-10, 25-20, 25-16 in the Class 2A volleyball regional Tuesday.
The 27-9 Commodores will play Indianapolis Ritter, ranked No. 4 in the state, in the first match of the Forest Park semistate Saturday at 10 a.m.
That will be followed by No. 1 Providence taking on unranked Union County at approximately noon.
