TELL CITY—In the early 1980s there were three men’s softball leagues in Perry County. Many players played in more than one league and also played tourneys nearly every weekend, so they were often playing five days a week.
In 1984 there were 10 teams in the Tell City Women’s Softball League and four more in Perry Central’s league.
Then the number of teams of both genders slowly began to dwindle.
