County may be on the hook for Deer Lake

TOBIN TOWNSHIP – A lake that has protected farmland, homes, roads and bridges from flooding for 34 years could cost the county a lot of money in coming years as local leaders work to remove a high-hazard designation on the reservoir’s dam.

Deer Lake is located in Tobin Township and was completed in 1981. It was a project undertaken with federal money by the Lincoln Hills Resource Conservation and Development Area, the first RC&D in the nation.
