Amid the musical backdrop of “Pomp and Circumstance,” Tell City High School seniors await recognition as graduates during Friday evening’s commencement. Nearly 90 students crossed the stage to receive their diplomas. Above, teacher Dan Lacy and students Julie Lindauer, Austin Maffia and Mercedes Mendez, show faces of determination after listening to a salutatory address from classmate Mason Waninger. In his speech, Waninger focused on the importance of being unique and expressing individuality as grads move forward. A similar oration was given later in the ceremony by Valedictorian Garrett Jarboe, who told the audience it is crucial to find one’s self and stand out in the crowd. The class of individual students, which spent 13 years together and grew to become an extended family, was encouraged to lean on each other when times get tough.
