  • Sue Schraner and Michael Tate were joined in marriage during a private afternoon ceremony July 12, 2014, at Mulzer Park in Derby.

    The bride is the daughter of James and Debra Armstrong of St. Croix and former in-laws Robert and Patricia Schraner of Derby. She has a daughter, Ashton Schraner, still at home. The groom is the son of Vicky Preflatish of Tell City and the late James Tate Sr.

    The bride was given in marriage by her daughter in a double-ring ceremony officiated by the Rev. Allen Armstrong, brother of the bride.

  • Kendall Troesch of St. Meinrad and Levi Brown of Ferdinand were united in marriage during an afternoon ceremony Nov. 9, 2013, at St. Meinrad Catholic Church.

    The bride is the daughter of Kathy and Steve Troesch of St. Meinrad.

    The groom is the son of Judi and Doug Brown of Ferdinand.

    The bride was given away by her father in the double-ring ceremony officiated by Father Anthony Vinson OSB and Deacon Timothy Wyciskalla.

  • Steven Goodson of Lubbock, Texas, and Kelly Gerleve of Maple Grove, Minn., announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.

    The bride-to-be is the daughter of Marty and Debbie Gerleve of Maple Grove, Minn.

    The future groom is the son of Steve and Kathy Goodson of Tell City.

    Miss Gerleve is a 2004 Maple Grove High School graduate and a 2008 University of Minnesota graduate.

    She is the head cheerleading coach at Bloomington-Jefferson High School in Minneapolis.

  • Kassi Dawn Wetzel and Grant Michael Dauby, both of Tell City, announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.

    The bride-to-be is the daughter of Charles Wetzel and Joyce Wetzel, both of Tell City. The future groom is the son of Mike and Cindy Dauby of Tell City.

    Miss Wetzel earned a bachelor’s degree in communications and marketing from the University of Evansville and is employed as an account representative at Abbey Press in St. Meinrad.

  • • Perry Central’s Class of 1994 will hold a 20-year reunion from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, at the French Lick Hotel. Members should reserve space for dinner and entertainment.   • THE BRISTOW COMMUNITY CENTER filled nine tables during euchre games Wednesday. Ralph Stiles came in first place last week with 87 points, followed by Dale Flamion in second place with 85 points. Vernie Harpenau took third place with 84 points and Phil Braunecker came in fourth place with 81 points. The center holds euchre games at 6:30 p.m. every Wednesday.

  • Food Pantry Sunday at First United Methodist
    TELL CITY – Everyone is invited to make an offering to the church’s food pantry during communion Sunday to help support Jasper’s Food Pantry in Cannelton. Food Pantries need help all year long and our congregation will be making a huge difference by helping to support Jasper’s Food Pantry each and every month. Items may be dropped off at the church office during office hours until and including Monday, Aug. 4.

  • TELL CITY – Victoria Yuen of Tell City was recognized for her outstanding academic performance during spring semester at Indiana University’s College of Arts and Sciences.

    Yuen’s high grade-point-average earned her a place on the executive dean’s list, which is reserved for students who complete at least 12 graded credit hours in a single semester while earning at least a 3.7.

    Students earning this distinction have their names posted on the university’s website.

  • Laura Raye Sidebottom of Cloverport, Ky., and Raymond Joseph Hagedorn of Tell City announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.

    The bride-to-be is the daughter of Jim and Ona Sidebottom of Greensburg, Ky.

    The groom-to-be is the son of Randy and Doris Hagedorn of Tell City.

    The wedding ceremony is planned for 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at Summersville Baptist Church in Summersville, Ky.

    A reception will take place at Sidebottom Farm.
