    PERRY COUNTY – Perry County musician Ryan Pfeifer is no stranger to the stage, having been in the local cover band, Carter Valley Boys, for a few years with friends before striking out on his own in recent years. 

  • Vicki and David Dickenson of Tell City celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary April 15 with a family dinner celebration. They were married April 11, 1992 at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Tell City. They have a son, Cole Dickenson, 15.

    David is employed at Best Home Furnishings and Vicki is employed at Owensboro Health. Mrs. Dickenson is the former Vicki Sutcliffe.

  • Arch and Jean Kellems, married April 7, 1947, in Leopold.

    The Kellems, long time residents of El Cajon, Calif., celebrated their 70th anniversary Saturday, April 7.

  • TELL CITY – The annual Tell City Art Show will be open today and Friday for viewing. The art show will also be highlighted by the second annual Fine Arts Night and Empty Bowls Event Friday.

    The art show will open their doors in the library/media center at 3 p.m. Empty Bowls will be open in the Red Apple Inn at 4 p.m.

    Displays include paintings, clay and ceramic sculptures, paper mache, digital photography, graphic design, wood burning and charcoal.

    GRANDVIEW – Pulling from his experiences playing to rowdy crowds in the late 1980s and early 1990s, Bobby Clark’s “Grandview” provides a glimpse of the town through the eyes of an ambitious musician.

    His cousin, John Mellencamp, has recorded his own version of the tune Clark penned, with Martina McBride lending her vocal talents to the song’s refrain. The song is an ode to Grandview, eliciting a hometown feeling of fondness for the historied community on Indiana 66.

  • Rachel and Lucas Tudor of Tell City would like to announce the birth of their son, Lucas Daniel Tudor Jr. He was born Feb. 27, 2017, at 10:26 a.m. at St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville. He weighed 8 pounds and 11.3 ounces and was 21 inches long.

    Lucas was welcomed home by his sister, Paisley Faith, 2.

    Maternal grandparents are Suzie and Denny Thorn of Cannelton. Paternal grandparents are Christine and Robert Tudor of Tell City. Great-grandparents include Nella Tudor and Yvetta Capps. The mother is the former Rachel Thorn.

    Building a lifetime of work upon a spark set off in his childhood home, drummer Kelly Clark recounts nearly a half-century of marching in his own line to his own beat.

    Having been playing for crowds since the age of seven, Clark has had a long time to refine his craft. He said he heard his father, Don Clark, playing various instruments around the house as a young child, and even though it was the one thing it seemed his father didn’t play, Clark took up drums as his instrument.

  • ST. MEINRAD – Saint Meinrad Archabbey’s pilgrimages to honor the Blessed Mother at the Monte Cassino Shrine have been scheduled for the Sundays in May.

    The pilgrimages begin with an opening hymn and a short sermon, followed by a rosary procession. The service ends with the Litany of the Blessed Virgin and a hymn. Speakers and topics for the pilgrimages are:

    • May 7, Brother Lorenzo Peñalosa OSB, Our Lady of Perpetual Help

    • May 14, Father Joseph Cox OSB, Mary, Our Mother

  • Breanna Blunk and Devin Hall were married Aug. 20, 2016, in a 2 p.m. service at Deer Creek Church in Tell City. The Rev. Elmer Shelby officiated.

    The bride is the daughter of Mark and Michelle Blunk of Tell City. The groom is the son of Mike and Kim Hall of Tell City.

    The bride was given in marriage by her father.

    Maids of honor were sisters of the bride, Makala Blunk and Mariah Blunk, both of Tell City.

    Bridesmaids were friend, Caitlin Ubelhor of Bristow, and aunts of the groom, Kristina Gentil of Wadesville and Kelli Brown of Tell City.
