  • Lilly Dale to host MAP VBS


    PERRY COUNTY – Lilly Dale Church of Christ will host its vacation Bible school, called “Superhero Kids Camp,” beginning July 10 and concluding on July 15. Each evening, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., young people in the Summer Missions for America program will lead VBS.

    This year’s program will be directed by Brother Sonny Childs as part of the MAP.

  • Darla and Frank Groves of Tell City plan to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with family at a later date.

    Frank and the former Darla Mullis were married May 26, 1956, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Tell City.

    They are the parents of Dean Groves, of Tell City, Scott Groves of Evansville and Julie Dantic of Richmond, Ky. They have five grandchildren.

    Frank retired from Commonwealth in 1995 and Darla retired from GE in 1994.

  • Kassandra and Ryan Risse of Tell City announce the birth of their daughter, Eleanor Sue Risse on May 23, 2016. She weighed 7 pounds and 1 ounce and was 21 inches long.

    She was welcomed home by her brother, Jackson, 2.

    Maternal grandparents are Kim and Mike Zellers of Tell City.

    Paternal grandparents are Pam Hagedorn and Larry Risse, both of Tell City. Great-grandparents are Patsy Zellers and Ralph and Susan Stiles.

    The mother is the former Kassandra Zellers.

  • Randi Lynn and Adam Gogel of Tell City announce the birth of their son, Grady Michael Gogel, on April 21, 2016.

    He was delivered at 8:05 p.m. at Memorial Hospital in Jasper. He weighed 4 pounds and 14 ounces and was 19 inches long. He was welcomed home by his siblings, Aubreigh, 9, and Koyie, 5.

    Maternal grandparents are Linda and Randy Weiss of Troy. Paternal grandparents are Glenda and Jerry Gogel of Tell City.

  • LEOPOLD – St. Augustine’s Catholic Church will have its annual picnic Sunday, July 31 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mass will be held at 10 a.m. There will be parking for the handicapped available.

    There will be quilts, quilt raffle, silent auction, country store, bingo, ice cream, games for young and old, baked goods and a grand raffle of 70 prizes totaling $3,000.
