  • Daniel (Tom) and Selina Sims of Tell City announce the birth of their daughter, Roseanna Louanne. She was delivered June 4, 2015, at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper.

    Roseanna weighed 5.15 pounds and was 19½ inches long. She was welcomed by her brothers and sisters, Trie, 18, Jasmine, 14, Johnathan, 10, Danielle, 8, Thomas, 3 and Danny, 35. Mrs. Sims is the former Selina Plock.

    Grandparents are JoAnne Plock and the late George Plock, the late Warren and Margie Sims and the late G. Elaine Plock.

  • Editor’s Note: A group of youth and adults from two Spencer County congregations, St. Boniface and St. Meinrad churches, recently returned from a week in Belize. They volunteered for Hand in Hand Ministries. One of those making the trip, Emily Troesch, wrote this reflection of the group’s experience.

  • DeeJay Shaw and Megan Blum announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

    The future bride is the daughter of Bill Blum and Lisa Dauby of Tell City. She is a 2013 graduate of Perry Central High School and will graduate from Harrison College this fall with an Associate of Applied Science in veterinary technology. This summer, she will begin an externship in Lafayette.

  • ST. MARKS – The descendants of Rosa and William DuPont will gather for a reunion on Sunday, June 21 at the St. Mark’s Parish Hall at 5377 Acorn Road Hwy 145, Tell City. A carry-in dinner will be held at noon. Family members are asked to bring a covered dish and drinks. Meat will be provided and a free will offering will be accepted to help pay for expenses.   • EVANSTON – The descendants of Wolfgang Mulzer will gather for a reunion Sunday, July 5, at St. John’s Lutheran Church near Evanston. A carry-in dinner will be held at noon. Meat and drinks will be provided.

    Each family is asked to take a covered dish. A free-will offering will be accepted to help pay for expenses.

  • PERRY COUNTY – Interested in becoming Miss Perry County 2015 or Junior Miss Perry County 2015?

    Any young woman age 15-21 can apply. This is the first year that it is open to the public. Contestants must reside in or have an immediate relative that resides in Perry County.

    Any young woman, who previously ran for Miss Perry County 4-H Fair but did not receive the queen title and is within the age range, is also eligible to apply.

  • PERRY COUNTY – The Rickenbaugh family reunion will be held Sunday, June 28, at Celina Lake off Indiana 37 in Perry County. Campsites are available and basket dinner will begin at noon. Everyone should take food, drinks and lawn chairs. RSVP to Golda Aders at (812) 843-5247.

  • Kyle and Kassi Harpenau of Tell City announce the birth of their son, Louis Noah. He was delivered at 11:25 a.m. April 11, 2015, at The Women’s Hospital in Newburgh.

    Louis weighed 9 pounds, 13 ounces and was 21½ inches long.

    Mrs. Harpenau is the former Kassi Henning.

    Louis has a one sister, Aurora, 3.

    Maternal grandparents are Angela Henning of Tell City and the late Rob Henning.

    Paternal grandparents are Vernie and Charlotte Harpenau of Tell City.
