    Over the summer, St. Paul youth and adult chaperones went on a trip to help better the lives of the less fortunate.

    This trip was sponsored by St. Paul Catholic Church and was fundraised through the course of a whole year. Coordinating various fundraisers, the teens helped members in Perry County, too. They helped set up the stage for the remarkable play put on at the school, washed cars and helped set up and tear down last year’s Schweitzer Fest fences, chairs and tables.

  • Samuel Eugene Ramsey and Emily Jade Blinn announce their upcoming wedding ceremony Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015, in Muncie. 

    The prospective bridegroom is the son of Brian and Penny Snyder of Troy.

    His grandparents are Hubert and Judy Ramsey of Troy and Mae Snyder of Tell City and the late William Snyder.

    The bride-to-be is the daughter of Edwin Jr. and Usa Blinn of Marion.

    Her grandparents are George and Rose Porter and Terry and Flo Rennaker of N.C., Marty Porter of Fairmont and Edwin Sr. and Brenda Blinn of Marion.

  • Abby E. Seifert of Dale and Jeremy J. Hagedorn of Tell City announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.

    The bride-to-be is the daughter of Cathy Seifert and Gary Seifert of Dale.

    The future groom is the son of Marilyn and Joseph Hagedorn of Tell City.

    The wedding ceremony is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dale.

    A reception will be held at the Spencer County Youth and Community Center in Chrisney.

  • ESAREY-SAALMAN FAMILY will gather for a reunion following church service Sunday, Aug. 9, at Leopold Hall. The event will begin about 11:30 a.m. and run until 4 p.m. Attendees are asked to take pictures along and also a covered dish for lunch at 12:30 p.m. For more information, call Jane Flamion at (812) 843-5167 or Clark Esarey at (217) 652-0521.

     

  • TROY – A fundraiser will continue for Phyllis Richards at the Barge Inn through Sunday, Aug. 2. The Barge Inn will donate 10 percent of all purchases to help with Richards’ medical expenses. Free-will donations will also be accepted.

  • Bridgette Kellems and Chase Gerber of Cannelton announce the birth of their daughter, Addilyn Grayce.

    She was delivered at 11:46 a.m. Monday, June 22, 2015, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City.

    Addilyn weighed 6 pounds, 14 ounces and was 20 inches long.

    Grandparents are Angel (James) and Jason Gaynor of Cannelton, Daniel Kellems Sr., of Tell City, Carla Hunter of Santa Claus and Chad Gerber of Cannelton.

  • Heath and Nancy Meyer of Carmel announce the birth of their son, Jake Jackson.

    He was delivered at 2:01 p.m. Saturday, July 8, 2015, at St. Vincent Carmel Hospital.

    Jake weighed 10 pounds, 5½ ounces and was 22 inches long.

    Mrs. Meyer is the former Nancy Dauby.

    Jake was welcomed home by his sister, Christina, 19 months.

    Maternal grandparents are Don and Carol Dauby of Tell City Paternal grandparents are Larry and Kathy Meyer of Ferdinand.
