  • ST. MEINRAD – The Benedictine monks at Saint Meinrad Archabbey celebrated the 60-year jubilee of monastic profession for five of their confreres July 31.

    Honored were the Rev. Lambert Reilly, the Rev. Denis Quinkert, Bro. Andrew Zimmermann, the Rev. Timothy Sweeney and the Rev. Meinrad Brune.

    Father Lambert is a native of Pittsburgh, Penn. He made his profession of vows on Aug. 15, 1956, and was ordained a priest on Sept. 20, 1959.

  • Molly and Shane Williams and Denise and Rick Flamion announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of Caley Williams of Tell City and Aaron Hutchins of St. Croix.

    The ceremony will take place Sept. 17, 2016 at Flamion Brothers’ Farms at 2 p.m. The reception will follow the ceremony at Fulda Sportsman Club.

    The bride-to-be is the daughter of Molly and Shane Williams of Tell City. The future groom is the son of Denise and Rick Flamion of St. Croix.

  • After raising three girls she adopted out of foster care, Mary Jane Malone wanted a way to honor them while helping Perry County. She also wanted to memorialize one daughter, whose life was taken by a tragic event. Mary Jane created the Mary Jane Malone Endowment Fund through the Perry County Community Foundation that will give back forever while remembering her and her family.   • TELL CITY – Jason Lindsey and wife Tracy Lindsey both formerly of Tell City were ordained Sunday morning at Gateway Ministries in Paoli. Mr. Lindsey and his wife will be pastoring at “Love Never Fails Outreach Ministry” in downtown French Lick. Love Never Fails Outreach is a full gospel ministry focusing on recovery and restoration through relationship with Jesus Christ. 

    They have dedicated themselves to giving back to area communities by reaching out to those suffering from drug and alcohol addiction and restoring lives.

  • Jaci Michelle Garrett and Ethan Dean Herzog plan to marry Saturday, July 30, at 3 p.m. at St. John United Church of Christ in Cannelton.

    The bride-to-be is the daughter of Brian and Mikki Garrett of Cannelton. The future groom is the son of Chris and Karen Herzog of Cannelton. Jaci is a graduate of Cannelton High School and the University of Southern Indiana. She is employed at Cannelton City Schools as a sixth-grade teacher.

  • Jack and Jean (Franchville) Boyce, of Shelbyville, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary July 30.


  • Whit and Heather Johnson of Ventura, Calif. announce the birth of their son, Whitney Adam Johnson on July 19, 2016, at 10:15 a.m.

    He weighed 6 pounds and 5 ounces and was 20 inches long.

    Grandparents are Whitney and Debra Johnson of Elkhart and Dave and Susan Smith of Canoga Park, Calif.

    The mother is formerly of Tell City.

    Holy Ghost Revival Saturday

     

    CANNELTON – Holy Ghost Revival will be in concert Saturday evening at 6 p.m. at House of Prayer. The church is located at 7498 Old State Road 237, in Cannelton. Pastor David Nix and the congregation welcome the public to attend.

     

    Southern gospel concert July 31

     

    TELL CITY – Deer Creek Baptist Church will be celebrating 195 years this Sunday, July 31.

  • PERRY COUNTY – The Lilly Dale Church of Christ will be holding a Revival meeting beginning Sunday July 31, and ending Wednesday, Aug. 3. 

    Brother Sonny Childs will be the guest speaker. Brother Sonny’s message will be “Facing the Storms of Life” from Mark 14. The Sunday morning services will include Sunday school at 9 a.m. and a worship service at 10 a.m. The evening services will begin at 7 p.m. each night. There will be a homecoming dinner following the Sunday morning service.
