  • William and Nancy Ludwig of Tell City celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with an evening dinner party Aug. 2, 2014, at the Patio Steak House.

    Mr. Ludwig and the former Nancy McCallister were wed Oct. 17, 1964, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Cannelton.

    Wedding attendants were Barbara Leistner, Ruth Ann Brumfield, Beverly Kincaid, Warren Leistner, Richard Peter and Kenneth McCallister. All attended the anniversary celebration.

  • TELL CITY – The Tell City First United Methodist church offers Celebrate Recovery Ministry to the community.

    The group meets every Sunday afternoon at 5 p.m. in the social hall at the church.

    “Celebrate Recovery is for anyone who is struggling with the bondage of alcohol and drugs, but it is also for anyone wrestling with depression, overeating or anything that holds one hostage from the freedom and joy Christ offers us all,” said church leaders.

  • PERRY COUNTY – Catholic Charities, in conjunction with the Holiday Helpers United program, is once again sponsoring a winter coat giveaway.

    Coats for adults and children are currently available at the Catholic Charities office. Call 547-0903 for more information.

  • Tell City Junior-Senior High School recently recognized this quarter’s Raise the Lid winner, Shelly Goodrich.

    The Raise the Lid award is given to a faculty member who goes above and beyond his or her duty. The winner is nominated by the student body and selected by the Renaissance Leadership class.

    Goodrich received hot tamales, diet Mountain Dew and the Raise the Lid award, to which she will add her signature and possess until next quarter’s Raise the Lid winner is announced.

  • Vince and Shelly Gagliardi of Cannelton announce the birth of their son, Thomas Richard.

    He was delivered at 4:48 p.m. Feb. 20, 2014, at Owensboro Regional Health.

    Thomas weighed 4 pounds, 8 ounces and was 18½ inches long.

    Mrs. Gagliardi is the former Shelly Masterson.

    Paternal grandparents are Richard and Madeleine Gagliardi of Mount Vernon, Ky. Maternal grandparents are the late William Thomas and the late Lucille Masterson.

  • Keith and Margie Wagner celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014.

    The couple was married Oct. 21, 1989, at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Tell City.

    They have two children, Jason (Kelly) Wagner and Jeremy “Tank” (Ashley) Wagner. They have five grandchildren, Bo Jake, Nolan, Kamden and Katie Wagner.

    Mr. Wagner works at Pre-Coat Metals and Mrs. Wagner works as an education supervisor with Oakland City University for the Indiana Department of Correction.

  • Bob and Linda Hess celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner on Oct. 11. They were married Oct. 16, 1954 at St. Paul Church. The couple owned and operated Bob Hess TV and Appliance for 35 years, until they retired.
