  • Rachel Goad and Michael Garmer were united in marriage during a morning ceremony April 26, 2014, at Highland Church of Christ in Johnson City, Tenn.

    The bride is the daughter of Dea Goad of Tell City and the late Ralph Goad.

    The groom is the son of Shawn and Jackie Garmer of Jonesborough, Tenn.

    The bride was given away by her brother, Bob Goad, in a double-ring ceremony officiated by the Rev. Byron Paddock.

  • TELL CITY – The 88th annual Capt. Andrew Peter Batson family reunion will take place Sunday, Aug. 31, at St. Mark Parish Hall.

    The meal will be served at 12:30 p.m. Everyone attending is asked to take a covered dish and drinks as well as genealogy information and photos to share.

    Paper goods will be supplied. The meal will be followed by a family meeting.

  • TELL CITY – The Knights of Columbus will host a youth soccer challenge at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, at Ranger Station Field at 16th and Washington. Boys and girls ages 9-14 are invited to participate.

  • JASPER – The 40th annual Wilgus Family Reunion was held Saturday, July 19, at the Ramada Inn and Convention Center in Jasper. The reunion is a gathering of the descendants and friends of Chester and Agnes (Hagedorn) Wilgus, lifelong residents of Tell City and Anderson Township in Perry County. In all, over 140 descendants were in attendance, including two children, 20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 37 great-great grandchildren. Attendees came from all over Indiana and from an additional eight states.

  • EVANSTON – Approximately 190 descendants of the Johann and Margaretha Wittman family met at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Evanston Sunday, Aug. 10, for a reunion and a carry-in dinner.

    The oldest and youngest members attending were recognized and presented with homemade blankets. Junella Aldridge Fouch, age 88, was the oldest and traveled from Indianapolis to attend.

  • Jill Ann Wagoner and David Joseph Esarey of Lafayette were united in marriage during an afternoon ceremony May 31, 2014, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Crawfordsville.

    The bride is the daughter of Jerry and Bea Wagoner of Hillsboro.

    The groom is the son of Joseph Esarey of Tell City and Linda Koziatek of Magnet.

    The bride was given in marriage by her parents in the double-ring ceremony officiated by the Rev. Darin Perkins.

    Beth Eubanks of Indianapolis, sister of the bride, was chosen as matron of honor.

  • Latisha Bryant and Jordan Zuckschwerdt of Tell City were untied in marriage during an afternoon ceremony June 14, 2014, at Bethel Baptist Church in Tell City.

    The bride is the daughter of Joe and Melissa Glenn of Tell City and Archie Bryant of Gentryville.

    The groom is the son of Cindy Kepler of Tell City and Chris Zuckschwerdt of Cannelton.

    The bride was given away by her father in the double-ring ceremony officiated by the Rev. Ron Ammon.

  • Olivia Schroeder of Tell City and Jon Tempel of St. Croix announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.

    The bride-to-be is the daughter of Duane and Tracy Schroeder of Tell City.

    The future groom is the son of Patrick and Shirley Tempel of St. Croix.

    The wedding ceremony is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, at St. Mark Catholic Church in Tell City. A reception will take place at the Fulda Sportsmen’s Club.

  • Tyla I. Bryant of Grandview and Eugene E. Wheatley III of Newtonville announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.

    The bride-to-be is the daughter of Bobby Bryant of Grandview and the late James Bryant.

    The future groom is the son of Eugene and Ann Wheatley of Newtonville.

    The wedding ceremony is planned for 2 p.m. Sept. 13, at the Perry County 4-H Fairgrounds in Tell City with a reception to follow.
