  • TELL CITY –First Baptist Church of Tell City will serve as a collection site for Operation Christmas Child. The annual project, supported by local residents, families, churches and groups, will fill shoeboxes with toys, school supplies and notes of encouragement.

    “Anyone can participate,” said local volunteer Cheryl Bingemer.

    “Whether you are young or old, Operation Christmas Child is a fun project that makes a tangible difference in the life of a child facing difficult circumstances.”

  • TELL CITY – Tell City Seventh-day Adventist Church will offer a culinary experience in vegetarianism from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, at the church. The event is free and open to the public. The church is at 434 13th Street in Tell City.

  • TELL CITY – Tell City First United Methodist Church’s missions team is collecting names of people who need help raking leaves in their yards this fall.

    Names, addresses and phone numbers may be provided to the church office by calling 547-2800 or sending email to the church at tcumc@psci.net.

  • FULDA – Historic St. Boniface Catholic Church in Fulda will sell homemade holiday pies and cookies beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25 and 8 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26 at Santa Claus Holiday Foods and Tell City Nobles IGA.

    The parish family of St. Boniface hopes to make the holidays easier by offering a wide variety of fresh, homemade cookies and pies. Varieties range from pecan to apple crumb and snicker doodles to oatmeal scotchies.

  • TELL CITY – Tell City First United Methodist church offers Celebrate Recovery Ministry every Sunday afternoon at 5 p.m. in the social hall at the church.

    Based on the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous, Celebrate Recovery offers a Biblically based, Christ-centered program.

    It is for anyone wrestling with alcohol, drugs, depression, overeating or other issues. Everyone is invited, welcome to attend and encouraged to take a friend.

  • TELL CITY – The Knights of Columbus will hold a Memorial Mass at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City. The Mass will be held in remembrance of all deceased Knights of Columbus members, especially those who have passed away since the last Memorial Mass. Everyone is welcome to attend.

  • LAMAR – St. John’s United Church of Christ in 
Lamar will host its annual Thanksgiving supper at 4 p.m. Saturday, 
Nov. 22. The menu will include ham and turkey, 
St. John’s “famous” dressing, fall vegetables, salad
 and home-baked desserts
 Carry out will be available.

  • TROY – Troy First Christian Church will present its annual Gospel Thanksgiving in Song. The public and all churches and denominations are most welcome.

    The program will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, in the Tell City Junior Senior High School auditorium.

    Doors will open at 4 p.m. Special guests include Jeremy Calloway, Hoosier Harmony, Ryan Seaton and Conquerors Quartet.

  • TELL CITY – Kyle Boyer-Hanks a 2014 graduate of Tell City Junior-Senior High School, graduated Oct. 10, from Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill., after eight weeks of training as a seaman apprentice.

    He is currently apprenticing to become an operations specialist and will be sent to the fleet upon completion of the 10-week program.

    Boyer-Hanks is the son of Kenneth and Anissa Hanks of Tell City and is the fiancé of Samantha Burton.
