    Clint and Amber Bockhold of Derby announce the birth of their daughter, Morgan Michelle Bockhold, Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, at Deaconess Women’s Hospital in Newburgh. The infant weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces and was 211⁄2 inches long.
    Mrs. Bockhold is the former Amber Jarboe.
    Grandparents are Neil and Connie Bockhold of Leopold and Mike and Kathy Jarboe of Derby.

  • Arcene and Ramona Foerster of Evanston will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010.
    Mr. Foerster and the former Ramona Talbott were married Oct. 23, 1960, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Evanston.
    They are the parents of four children, Darryl Foerster, Debra Sendelweck, Angela Claiborne and Becky Boehm. The couple also has six grandchildren, Molly Foerster, Nicole and Lucas Sendelweck, Amanda Claiborne and Lee and Heather Boehm.

  • Roy and Jeanette Ward of Tell City will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010.
    Mr. Ward and the former Jeanette Broyles were married Oct. 16, 1960, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Paducah, Ky.
    The couple have three children, David and Charles Ward of Tell City and Lori Dials of Frankfort, Ky. They have two grandchildren, Joshua and Seth Ward.
    Mr. Ward retired from Willamette Industries in 2001.

  • TELL CITY – In celebration of Teen Read Week, Sunday through Oct. 23, the Tell City-Perry County Public Library will host two events for local teens.
    From 5 to 8 p.m. Monday there will be a “Game Night” where teens are invited to go to the library and play games on the Wii gaming system or play a variety of card and board games.

  • FORT BENNING, Ga. – Pvt. Jakob A. Powers, formerly of Tell City, of B Company, Second Battalion, 19th infantry Regiment, completed Army basic training and infantry school in Fort Benning. He trained at the base from June 18 to Sept. 24 in Foxtrot Company. He will be based at Fort Bliss, Texas.
    Power is a graduate of Daviess County High School and the son of Allan and Stephanie Powers of Utica, Ky., and the late Connie Wheatley. He has two brothers, Clint Duke and Austin Powers and two step-sisters, Taylor Kratzer and Kendall Powers.

  • PERRY COUNTY – Perry County’s 4-H clubs are working on community-service projects and would like to have the public become involved, Extension Educator Re-nate Jobst said.
    “There are three projects that are ongoing and I am hopeful the community will want to pitch in,” Jobst said.
