  • Rachelle Doogs and Joey Edwards of Owensboro, Ky., were united in marriage during a ceremony Saturday, June 12, 2010, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City.
    The bride is the daughter of Rodney and Karen Doogs of Cannelton. Mr. Edwards is the son of Miley and Brenda Conner of Lewisport, Ky., and James Edwards of Merriville, Tenn.
    The bride was given away by her father in the ceremony officiated by the Rev. Dennis Duvelius.

  • Julianna Marie Dickman
    Joe and Krystina Dickman of Brighton, Colo., announce the birth of their daughter, Julianna Marie Dickman, Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Platte Valley Medical Center in Brighton.
    The infant weighed 9 pounds.
    Mrs. Dickman is the former Krystina Craig.
    Grandparents are David and Denette Craig of Brighton, Doug and Vickie Robbins of Indianapolis and Mike and Vicki Dickman of Tell City.

  • Little Pigeon to host gospel sing Sept. 18
    LAMAR – The Little Pigeon Baptist Church, off Indiana 245 on W. CR 1200N near Lamar, will hold a gospel sing at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 18.
    Crossties Bluegrass Gospel will be the special guests for the evening. Refreshments will be served at 6 p.m. All are welcome to attend.

  • Mary Katherine (Katie) Gill and Seth Edmond Cissna of Indianapolis announce their engagement and ap-proaching marriage.
    The bride-elect is the daughter of Charles and Sherry Gill of Bloomington. She is a graduate of Bloomington High School North and Kaplan College. She is a surgical dental assistant and is working on a bachelor’s degree in sociology at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.

  • There's something entirely different to see at the Shubael Little Pioneer Village this year. A stone and brick forge believed to have been built around the time of the Civil War has been taken down, moved and rebuilt to working condition. It will be on display during an October open house. The newly constructed blacksmith shop, built of old barnwood and timbers, is based on the design of the structure in which the forge was located for some 150 years.

  • Courtney Grimes and Ryan Gudal were married during a private wedding ceremony held July 24, 2010, at the Chapel of the Glades in Gatlinburg, Tenn.
    The bride is the daughter of James and Linda Grimes of Indianapolis. She is a graduate of Decatur Central High School and Indiana Business College. She is in charge of accounts receivable at Rural-Metro Inc. in Indianapolis.

  • Andrea Tepe and Jason Hawkins of Tell City announce their engagement and approaching marriage.
    The bride-elect is the daughter of Katrina Tepe of Tell City. She is a 2001 graduate of Perry Central High School and a 2003 graduate of Vincennes University Jasper Campus.
    Mr. Hawkins is the son of Carolyn Hawkins of Tell City and the late Fred Hawkins.
    He is a 1999 graduate of Tell City High School and works at ATTC Manufacturing.
    The wedding is planned for 2 p.m. Sept. 2, 2010, at Lincoln Boyhood Memorial Chapel in Lincoln City.
