    The bride-elect is a 2007 graduate of Heritage Hills High School and a 2010 graduate from the University of Southern Indiana with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She is employed at Jasper Obstetrics and Gynecology in Jasper.

  • Christina Marie Weedman and Anthony Dennis Richardt of Branchville announce their engagement and approaching marriage.
    The bride-elect is the daughter of Eugene and Delores Welp of Siberia.
    Mr. Richardt is the son of Ambrose “Bud” and Joyce Richardt of Tell City.
    The ceremony is planned for Jan. 1, 2011, at St. Meinrad Catholic Church in St. Meinrad. A reception will follow at the St. Meinrad Community Center.

  • Rachel Turner and Jared Sabelhaus were united in marriage during an afternoon ceremony Saturday, July 10, 2010, at Christ United Methodist Church in Washington.
    The bride is the daughter of Bill and Carolyn Turner of Washington. Mr. Sabelhaus is the son of Steve Sabelhaus and Mary Jo Sabelhaus, both of Tell City.
    The bride was given away by her parents in the ceremony officiated by the Rev. Lennie Lawrence.

  • ST. MEINRAD – A benefit event for David VanHoosier will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13 at the St. Meinrad Community Center. Chili, hamburgers, hot dogs, pulled-pork sandwiches, chips, desserts and drinks will be served. A raffle will be held at 6 p.m. Tickets will be sold in advance and the day of the benefit. Winners need not be present to win.

  • TELL CITY – The Tell City Beautification Committee will host a chili cook-off Sunday, Nov. 28 from 2 to 4 p.m. on Main Street in conjunction with the Tell City Christmas parade.
    Participating businesses are asked to cook their best pot of chili and serve the public as they stroll Main Street during “A Christmas Celebration.”
    The cost of each station is $10. The money will go toward expenses for prizes and awards given to participating merchants.

  • CANNELTON – Cannelton City Schools will celebrate Veterans Day beginning at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
    All veterans and the public are invited to the event at the Cannelton Community Center. Special seating will be available for veterans who attend.
    Guest speaker will be 1st Lt. Wendy Freeman.
    Students from preschool through 12th grades will have presentations for the public to enjoy.

  • Kenny and Terri Hasty and William and Tammy Scherer, all of Grandview, announced the engagement and approaching marriage of their children, Lindsey Hasty and Rick Scherer, both of Grandview.
    The bride-elect is a 2003 graduate of South Spencer High School. She works at Harpenau Insurance.
    Mr. Scherer is a 2003 graduate of South Spencer High School. He works at Waupaca Foundry in Tell City.
    The wedding is planned for 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, in Lincoln Boyhood Memorial Park in Lincoln City.

  • Christine Weber of Dale and Luke Himsel of Dubois were united in marriage during a ceremony held June 19, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dale.
    The bride is the daughter of Frederick and Diane Weber of Dale. Mr. Himsel is the son of Lois Recker and Harvey Himsel of Dubois.
    The bride was given away in marriage by her father in the ceremony officiated by the Rev. John Brosmer.
