  • TELL CITY – The Tell City Bowling Center will play host to Bowl for the Cure at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 26.
    The contest will be a nine-pin, no-tap, scotch-doubles bowling tournament.
    Partners must be a man-woman couple and can sign up at the bowling center.
    Cost is $40 per couple and prizes will be awarded to first- , second- and third-place winners.
    Contestants are encouraged to wear pink to help raise awareness as they participate in the event.
     

  • LEOPOLD – Perry Central band will host its first annual spring expo Saturday, April, 16 at Perry Central School Dome. Events will include an Easter hunt, craft and bazaar vendors, food, free crafts for children, coloring contest and a silent auction.
    Entrance to the event is free.
    A 10-foot by 10-foot vendor space rents for $10 and a 12-foot by 12-foot vendor space will rent for $15. Tables are $2 each or vendors can furnish their own.

  • INDIANAPOLIS – This year, students from across the nation will take part in a unique leadership development program being held in 35 cities across the country.

  • Tell City Junior-Senior High School students voted Sarah Drake and Rudy Clark homecoming queen and king. The two were crowned during ceremonies held Saturday, Feb. 19 between the junior varsity and varsity basketball games against North Posey.

  • Jacob Andrew Gilliam
    Samuel “Tripp” and Jerene Gilliam of Dublin, Ga., announce the birth of their son, Jacob Andrew Gilliam, Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, at Fairview Park Hospital.
    The infant weighed 7 pounds, 13 ounces and was 211⁄2 inches long.
    Mrs. Gilliam is the former Jerene Kunkler.
    Grandparents are Jerome and Marlene Kunkler of Tell City and Samuel and Frances Gilliam of Abbeville, S.C.
    Great-grandparents are Samuel and Elizabeth Gilliam and the late Joseph and Otillia Kunkler and Leo and Josephine Jasper.

  • Khrystyna Hubert and Jeremy Mayfield were united in marriage during an afternoon ceremony Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City.

  • PERRY COUNTY – The Indiana Arts Commission and Arts Region 11 are seeking representatives to serve as panelists for the FY2012 Regional Initiative Grants to Organizations review process. These individuals will review applications for state arts funding for nonprofit organizations in their regions. A panelist will be selected from each of the six counties that make up Region 11; Perry, Crawford, Daviess, Dubois, Orange and Martin.
