  • ROCKPORT – Indiana Works will hold a Work Incentive Seminar Event at the Spencer County Public Library in Rockport at 1 p.m. Feb. 17.
    This WISE event can assist people receiving Social Security disability benefits who are interested in exploring work options and using incentives available through Social Security to keep benefits while trying to work. These incentives may help you financially.

  • TELL CITY – The Tell City Historical Society is re-releasing copies of the 150th Anniversary Pictorial History.
    With more than 150 pages of pictures and historical descriptions, nearly 1,000 references to individual people who have lived in Tell City this 8.5-by-11 inch display volume is a perfect gift or addition to the home of any fan of Tell City.

  • TELL CITY – The Perry County Women for Women Advisory Committee will again sponsor the Glamour, Glitz and Gourmet event at Schergens Center in Tell City.
    Doors will be open from 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 26 and the community is invited to attend and peruse the booths and activities available.

  • TELL CITY – The Tell City High School Soccer Boosters have initiated a fundraising campaign for Phase 2 Improvements at the high-school soccer field located at William Tell Elementary School. These proposed improvements include completing fencing around the perimeter of the field, adding bleachers and the placement of concrete walks.
    All donated money should be sent to the Tell City-Troy Township School Corp., 837 17th Street, Tell City, Indiana 47586, Attn: Soccer Boosters so that full tax benefits will be obtained.

  • St. Boniface to host spaghetti dinner
    FULDA – St. Boniface Catholic Church in Fulda will host a spaghetti dinner at the church from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12.
    The parish family of St. Boniface Catholic Church invites neighbors and friends to celebrate Saint Valentine with an evening of good food and live entertainment.
    Spaghetti dinners will cost $8 for adults and $5 for children. Proceeds will benefit the facilities and grounds of historic St. Boniface Church.
    The parish center is located on Highway 545, south of the church.

  • ST. MEINRAD – Brother Francis de Sales Wagner OSB professed solemn vows as a Benedictine monk of Saint Meinrad Archabbey in a ceremony Jan. 25 in the Archabbey Church.

    Wagner is a native of Findlay, Ohio, where he attended Liberty-Benton High School and was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Parish. He earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Bowling Green State University in 1988.

  • ST. MEINRAD – A concert of sacred music by the group Angelus will be performed in the Saint Meinrad Archabbey Church at 3 p.m. Sunday.
    Angelus is a group of six young women from Mount Vernon Senior High School who are dedicated to the performance of sacred music from varied religious traditions and historical periods. They perform music ranging from medieval chant to the American sacred harp tradition and contemporary Irish sacred music.

  • TELL CITY – First United Methodist Church in Tell City is gearing up for Super Bowl Sunday with a special pre-game worship service at 9 a.m. Sunday.

    The service will include a message “God’s Playbook” by Pastor Andy Payton and special music “Drop Kick Me Jesus, Through the Goalposts of Life” by the Chancel Choir.
    Pre-game activities will begin at 4 p.m. with soup, snacks, games and movies for children.
