Earl Leistner and Olivia (Hildenbrand) Leistner celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary Aug. 29, 2012, at their home in New Boston with cake and ice cream with their family.
Mr. and Mrs. Leistner were married Aug. 29, 1942, at Immanuel Evangelical and Reformed Church in Mount Vernon. Their attendants were Leon (Hildenbrand) Leistner and Roland Lautner.
Mr. Leistner is retired from the Spencer County Highway Department as a foreman since 1983. Mrs. Leistner enjoyed being a housewife and is still waiting to retire.
Vanessa Mosby and Dav-id Barger of Tell City an-nounce their engagement and approaching marriage.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Scott Mosby, Belinda Ball and Shelley Mosby, all of Tell City. She is a 2003 graduate of Perry Central High School and a 2007 licensed practical nurse grad of Ivy Tech Community College in Evansville. She works as a licensed practical nurse at Miller’s Merry Manor in Rockport and at the Branchville Correctional Facility. She is also studying registered nursing through Excelsior College.
JASPER – The 38th annual Wilgus family reunion was held July 21 at the Jasper Inn and Convention Center in Jasper.
The reunion is a gathering of the descendants and friends of Chester and Agnes (Hagedorn) Wilgus, lifelong residents of Tell City and Anderson Township in Perry County. In all, a record-setting 151 were in attendance, including two children, 22 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 36 great-great grandchildren. Attendees came from all over Indiana and from an additional nine states.
Ice cream social at Deer Creek Baptist
TELL CITY – Deer Creek Baptist Church in Tell City will host an ice cream social at 6 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Sunday School will be held for all ages at 9:30 a.m. and morning worship will follow at 10:30 a.m. Sunday evening worship will be at 6 p.m.
Other activities the church holds include Wednesday Bible study at 7 p.m. and youth and children’s activities Sunday and Wednesday. A quilting group also meets every Tuesday. All are invited to attend.
