  • CANNELTON – Freewill Baptist Church, 117 Second St., Cannelton will have its 43rd annual homecoming weekend, Saturday, May 7 and Sunday, May 8.

    Singing will be the The Epley Family from Mount Pleasant, Iowa and the Pearly Gateman Quartet Reunion.
    Singing will begin Saturday night at 7 p.m. Sunday school will be dismissed and Sunday services will begin at 10 a.m. with The Epley Family and the Pearly Gateman Quartet.
    Following morning worship, there will be a carry-in basket lunch served in the fellowship hall.

  • Sidney Marie Bennett
    Jeremy and Laura Bennett of Owensboro, Ky., an-nounce the birth of their daughter, Sidney Marie Bennett, Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, at Owensboro Medical Health System.
    The infant weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces and was 21 inches long.
    Mrs. Bennett is the former Laura Kaufman.
    Grandparents are Darrel and Cindy Kaufman of Tell City and Steve and Julie Bennett of Tell City.

    The bride-elect is the daughter of Otto Fischer Jr. of Tell City and the late Darla Fischer.
    She is a graduate of Tell City High School, the University of Evansville and the University of Louisville.
    She works as a business analyst at Kindred Healthcare in Louisville.
    Mr. Davis is the son of Denny Davis of Cannelton and the late Patricia Davis. He is a graduate of Tell City High School and Vincennes University.

  • Samantha Courtney Davis and Erik Christopher Larson, both currently of Boston, Mass., announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

    The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Davis of Johnson City, Tenn., and the granddaughter of Mrs. Oliver L. (Margaret) Davis of Bristow, Mr. Oliver L. Davis of Scenic Hills Care Center, Ferdinand and the late Mr. and Mrs. Sam Hall of Rogersville.

  • Jessica Lee Dauby of Tell City and Russell Wayne Alvey of Cannelton announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

    The bride-elect is the daughter of Tim and Lois Dauby of Tell City. She is a 2009 graduate of Perry Central High School and works at Shoe Show in Tell City. She is attending Ivy Tech Community College to obtain her office administration degree in software and the medical fields.
    Mr. Alvey is the son of Kevin Alvey of Bandon. He is a 2009 graduate of Perry Central High School. He works at Masterbrand Cabinets in Ferdinand.

  • TELL CITY – A yard sale and bake sale will be held Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at American Legion Post 213 in Tell City.
    The American Legion Ladies Auxiliary will sponsor the sales. Proceeds are to be used locally to benefit veterans.
    Anyone wishing to donate items may bring them to the American Legion Post 213 during the regular business hours on or before Thursday.

  • Calvin and Betty Cash of Tell City, parents of Amity Renee Cash, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter to Joseph Dale Colston of Evansville, son of Alex and Theresa Colston of Evansville.

    The bride-elect is a 1998 graduate of Tell City High School and a 2001 graduate of Vincennes University with an associate’s degree in funeral service.
    She is the funeral director and director of operations at Browning Funeral Home in Evansville.
