  • Norman and Judy Herzog of Cannelton celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Jan. 21, 2011.

    The couple were married at St. Michael Catholic Church Jan. 21, 1961. They are still active members of the church.
    The Herzogs are the parents of four children, Norm Herzog of Indianapolis, Christopher Herzog of Cannelton, Mindy Herzog Paulet of Lafayette and John Paul Herzog of New Albany and two daughters-in-law, Karen and Nicki Herzog.

  • Kamden Ray Phillips
    Jason and Jennifer Phillips of Tell City announce the birth of their son, Kamden Ray Phillips, Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2010, at Owensboro Medical Health System in Owensboro, Ky.
    The infant weighed 7 pounds, 13 ounces and was 20 3⁄4 inches long.
    Mrs. Phillips is the former Jennifer Bartlett. Kamden has two siblings, Jaylie Albin, 6 and Kirra Albin, 2.
    Grandparents are Bobby Bartlett of Tell City, Dawn Brown of Gentryville and Pam Wilbur of Tell City.

  • LEOPOLD – The 2010-11 Perry Central basketball homecoming ceremony will be held between the games of the boys varsity and junior-varsity basketball teams against Crawford County Friday. The junior-varsity game will begin at 5:30 p.m.

    The senior class has selected the queen and king candidates for the ceremony. The entire high-school student body will vote on the queen and king.

  • GRANDVIEW – The Garden Club of Grandview recently received a monetary donation from Waupaca Foundry, Tell City plant, for its current community project.
    The garden club is sponsoring a new park for the children of their community. The park will use town property that is unusable for residence. It will be located on the northeast side of Grandview, where there are currently no play areas.

  • Rome Masonic Lodge recently recognized Brother Charles Skinner, left, for marking 50 years of membership in Masonry. Charles Skinner accepted an Award of Gold Certificate from Gale Garner, secretary of the lodge.
