  • The Perry County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for Indiana Realty Group to celebrate their move to 337 Main Street in Tell City Aug. 9. 

  • TELL CITY – The 2011 Marksmen cheerleading camp will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 17 at the William Tell Elementary, 1235 31st St., Tell City.
    Cost is $25 and includes a T-shirt and lunch. Children ages 6-13 are invited to participate. Registration packets can be picked up in the office at William Tell Elementary and Tell City Junior-Senior High School or by contacting Terria Mowery or any senior high cheerleader.   • Faulkenberg-Newton
    TELL CITY – The descendants of James C. and Hannah (Newton-Enlow) Faulkenberg will be having a family reunion at Patoka Lake Shelterhouse No. 1, Sept. 18, 2011.
    Their children were Ida, James, Leora Enlow, Mack, Ella, Charles Edward, Minnie and Essie Faulkenberg.
    Bring a covered dish and drinks. Lunch is at noon.

    Birchler
    FULDA – The annual Birchler reunion will be held Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011 at the St. Boniface Parish Center, Fulda. A pitch-in meal will be served at noon.

  • The Oil Township Class of 1948 held its 63rd reunion at the Patio, Aug. 12. Those attending were left to right: Gloria Faulkenberg Goffinet, Charlie Weatherholt, Norma Murphy Foertsch, Goldie Cunningham Edwards, Clyde Smith, Christine Flannagan Hawkins, Donald King, Faye Goffinet King and Jim Underhill.

  • The 1947 class of Oil Township High School also gathered for their annual reunion July 30 at Bill & Dave’s Smokin’ Pit in Tell City. Those attending were Theresa (Quinlin) Miles, Evelyn (Lemaire) Weiss, Albert Faulkner, Bob Gibson, Kenneth Lynch and Casper Etienne.

  • The Oil Township High School Class of 1946 had its annual class reunion July 30 at Bill & Dave’s Smokin Pit restaurant. Attending from the class were Kathleen (King) Ransom, Mary Agnes (Faulkner) Goffinet, Ada (Hawkins) Richardson, Thelma (Frakes ) Gibson and Bill Ransom.

  • DOOLITTLE MILLS – Bethel Christian Church will host its church revival, this week until Friday at 6 p.m. every evening.
    Evangelist present Friday evening will be Brother Steve Locke, retired minister while Brother Al Madden, minister at Nicholson Valley Church, will present today.
    Special singing or music is invited. Homecoming will be held Sunday.
    Brother Tom Nixon, minister at Bethel Christian Church welcomes the public.

  • New church starts in Troy
    TROY – Our Father’s House has opened its doors on 630 Walnut St., in Troy and is welcoming the community to its service.
    Sunday worship will begin at 9 a.m. and singing will be held at 6 p.m. Thursdays. The church’s pastor is Brother “Bud” Louis Mullen. He can be reached at (812) 529-8638.
