  • Rebecca Gray and David Corn were united in marriage during an afternoon ceremony Saturday, July 16, 2011, held at the Tell City United Methodist Church.

    The bride is the daughter of Doris McKa of Sparkman, Ark. Mr. Corn is the son of Debbie and Steve Neyhouse and Larry and Debra Corn, all of Tell City.
    The bride was given away by Herb Fortune, the groom’s grandfather, in the double-ring ceremony officiated by Pastor Andy Payton.

  • Mr. and Mrs. Don Rudolph and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Purcell announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their children, Laura Marie Rudolph and Michael Ray Purcell.

  • Rick May of Tell City and Rebecca May of New Bos-ton announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Allison Nicole May, to Daniel Hutt Schnieders of Ferdinand, son of James and Carla Schnieders of Ferdinand.

    The bride-elect is a 2006 graduate of Tell City High School and a 2010 graduate of Butler University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and Spanish.
    She is a fourth-grade teacher at William Tell Elementary School.

  • St. John Chrysostom picnic Sunday
    NEW BOSTON – St. John Chrysostom Catholic Church in New Boston will host its annual summer picnic Sunday.
    Serving of fried chicken and roast beef dinners will begin at 10 .a.m. The parish’s “famous soup” will be sold by the bowl and gallon, with burgers, funnel cakes and other food items.
    There will be kids games, a bouncy house, bingo, country store, quilts, raffle and more. The public is invited to spend the day in fun and fellowship.

  • TELL CITY – Church of Nazarene will be having an installation service to welcome their new pastor, Marlin Betts and his wife, Debbie, Sunday, July 24 at 10:30 a.m.
    There will be a reception following the service. The public is invited to attend this event.
     

  • Lucy Jeanne Cole
    Brian and Valerie Cole of Troy announce the birth of their daughter, Lucy Jeanne Cole, Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at Jasper Memorial Hospital in Jasper. The infant weighed 6 pounds, 4 ounces and was 20 inches long.
    Mrs. Cole is the former Valerie Stutsman. Lucy has two brothers, Zaiden, 6 and the late Maddix Cole.
    Grandparents are Marty and Carol Vinson of Tell City and Peggy and Frankie Cole of Hawesville, Ky.
    Great-grandparents are Peggy and James Applegate of Cannelton and the late Leroy and Gloria Lindauer.

  • Mr. and Mrs. John Wilgus of Tell City celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary June 24, 2011.
    The couple were married June 24, 1951, at Troy Christian Church in Troy.
    They have two children, Pam Wilson and her husband, Mike, and Brett Wilgus.
    They also have one grandson, Ben Wilson and his wife, Danielle.
    Mr. Wilgus is retired after 30 years as a field examiner and field supervisor with the State Board of Accounts.

  • Kevin and Bridget Goffinet of Bristow celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary July 19, 2011.
    Mr. Goffinet married the former Bridget Heeke of Evanston July 19, 1986, in Mackville, Ky.
    The couple have two children, Grant and his wife, Mary, and Grace. They also have two grandchildren, Lilly and Maggie.
    Mr. and Mrs. Goffinet celebrated the occasion with dinner and a play, and cake and ice cream with their parents, grandparents, children and granddaughters. They will also take a Caribbean cruise.
    Mr. Goffinet is employed at Coca-Cola in Jasper.
