  • Toni and Matt Rayburn of Mount Juliet, Tenn., announce the birth of their twin daughters, Dylan Marie and Addie Lynn Rayburn, Monday, May 21, 2012, in Nashville, Tenn.
    Dylan weighed 6 pounds, 5 ounces and Addie weighed 6 pounds, 6 ounces. Both infants were 19 inches long.
    Mrs. Rayburn is the former Toni Greulich. The twins have two older siblings, Hadley Jo, 3, and Kaitlyn Marie, 11.
    Grandparents are Rick and Terri Greulich of Tell City and Tim Rayburn of Ashland City, Tenn.

  • Joseph and Beverly Keller of Tell City celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary June 2, 2012, at West Boggs Lake in Loogootee.

    Mr. Keller married the former Beverly Peters June 2, 1972, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Tell City.
    They are the parents of Susan (Jason) Martin of Ferdinand and Joseph Keller Jr. of Tell City. Their grandchildren are Eli, Owen and Isaac Martin.
    Mr. Keller is retired from Boilermakers Local 374 and Mrs. Keller is a registered nurse employed by Vista Care Hospice.

  • Nathan and Bettye Miller will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary June 28, 2012, (today) with their family.

    Mr. Miller and the former Bettye Raaf were married June 28, 1947, at St. Paul’s Rectory in Tell City.
    The couple are the parents of Dan Miller (Joyce) of Minneapolis, Minn., Steve Miller (Laurie) of Bloomington, Beth Bosler (Gary) of Lebanon, Pa., Tim Miller (Karen) of Tell City, Greg Miller (Karen) of Boonville and Brad Miller (Connie) of Boonville. They have 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

  • TELL CITY – Doretha Horlander recently celebrated her 99th birthday with family members.

  • LEOPOLD – St. Augustine Catholic Church will hold its annual picnic from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 29. Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m.
    Parking will be available for the handicapped. The event will feature quilts, a quilt raffle, a silent auction, yard sale, country store, bingo, ice cream, games for young and old, a cornhole tourney, baked goods and a grand raffle of 60 prizes totaling $2,600.
    Family-style chicken dinners will be served in the air-conditioned dining room. Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children. Carry-outs will be available.

  • TELL CITY – The DQ Grill & Chill restaurant in Tell City recently earned a Personal Responsibility in Delivering Excellence Award from the Dairy Queen system for achieving a high level of cleanliness and food safety.
    “I feel honored to have received such a prestigious award,” Linda Mattingly, store manager, said. “My staff and I work hard to keep our restaurant at a high level of cleanliness to ensure that we provide a safe and enjoyable environment for our customers.”

  • TELL CITY – The Tell City Historical Society has voted to accept public nominations for its Distinguished Citizen Award. Since the 1960s, a distinguished member of the community has been honored during each Schweizer Fest for their contributions to the betterment of Tell City.
    The following requirements are considered in determining a distinguished citizen:
    • An individual who has accepted Tell City as his or her community, whether by birth or adoption, and has benefited our community.

  • Valorie Richter and John Bland of Rome were united in marriage during an afternoon ceremony held Saturday, June 2, 2012, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Cannelton.

    The bride is the daughter of David and Jenny Richter of Tell City. Mr. Bland is the son of Nancy Bland of Rome and the late Ivan Edward Bland Jr.
    The bride was given in marriage by her father during the double-ring ceremony officiated by the Rev. Barnabas Gillespie OSB.
