  • CANNELTON – The seventh-annual Camp with a Cop is set for July 17-19 and will offer campers three days and two nights of activities. Children entering fifth through ninth grades are invited.
    The camp is designed to build respect and confidence in youth through positive encounters with law enforcement agencies from various state and local departments.

  • TELL CITY – St. Paul Catholic Church’s annual live auction – usually held during the annual church picnic – has been rescheduled for 5 p.m. Friday at the parish hall. Inclement weather during the June 9 Picnic in the Park caused the postponement.
    The auction will start at 5 p.m. with hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, brats, drinks and cookie on sale. The country store will be open and children will be able to purchase inflatable toys.

  • Dana M. Hale and Eric L. Howard were united in marriage during an evening ceremony Sunday, June 2, 2013, at Vegas Wedding in Las Vegas, Nev.

    The bride is the daughter of Dianna and Dennie Criss of Hawesville, Ky. Mr. Howard is the son of Stephanie Wilber and Larry Wilber of Tobinsport and Ellis Howard of Tell City.
    Karie Briem was chosen as the maid of honor and Brandon Sodrel of Troy served as the best man.
    A reception was held in Las Vegas following the ceremony. The new Mr. and Mrs. Eric Howard reside in Tell City.

  • Jessica Greene of Anderson and Taylor Querry of Chesterfield announce their engagement and approaching marriage.
    The bride-elect is the adopted daughter of Madonna and Rick Greene and the biological daughter of Sally Smith of Tell City. Mr. Querry is the son of Jodie and Terry Querry of Kokomo.
    A ceremony is planned for 2 p.m. Oct. 26, 2013, in Anderson with a reception to follow.

  • Harry and Diane Steinsberger of Knoxville, Tenn., announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their son, Jeff, to Nicole Dalence of Moorehead, Minn.

    The bride-elect is the daughter of Ann Dance and the late David Dalence.
    Mr. Steinsberger is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Don Staples of Tell City and the late Dr. and Mrs. Harry C. Steinsberger of Cannelton.  
    The wedding is planned for Saturday, July 13, 2013, in Moorehead.

  • Chuck and Janet Faust of Leopold and Larry Banet of Milltown announce the en-gagement and approaching marriage of their children, Dana Faust and Jeff Banet.

    Mr. Banet is also the son of the late Brenda Banet.
    A private wedding ceremony is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013.
    A reception will follow at the Bristow Community Center. Formal invitations have been issued. Friends and family are invited to attend.

  • PERRY COUNTY – The Senior Farmer’s Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) is available in Perry County this year under the sponsorship of Lincoln Hills Development Corporation through the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program.  
    The program will provide $3,000 in voucher checks from the Indiana Department of Health to 150 low-income households in Perry County.  The program encourages low-income senior citizens to purchase nutritious, locally grown produce which helps support our community’s farmers.  

  • TELL CITY – Following is the summer schedule for the Perry County Bookmobile. Materials may be returned to any stop on the schedule or to the Tell City-Perry County Public Library or the Cannelton Public Library.
    School stops are scheduled with classes all day; for smaller crowds and easier selection, avoid those stops.  If school is cancelled or is released early, the bookmobile schedule may change. When in doubt, contact the library.
    Anyone wishing to check out materials on the bookmobile will have to have a library card to check out.

  • TELL CITY – First United Methodist Church, 10th and Mozart streets, and St. Paul Catholic Church, Ninth and Jefferson streets, are gearing up for a “Son West Roundup” vacation Bible school June 24  through June 27.
    Children 4 to 5 year olds and kindergartners attend can attend vacation Bible school at the Methodist church from 9:15 to 11:15 a.m. Students in first through fourth grade will attend activities held at St. Paul Church from 9 to 11:30 a.m.
