  • Holy Cross to host annual flea market Sunday
    ST. CROIX – The Holy Cross Catholic Church in St. Croix will host its annual huge flea market from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17.
    The market will include antiques, collectibles, books, clothing, household items, baby furniture, crafts and more.
    Produce, baked goods and homemade jellies will also be sold and the annual huge raffle will be held.

  • SANTA CLAUS – Mount Zion Christian Church of Santa Claus will hold its annual homecoming Sunday at the church.
    The guest speaker for the morning service will be Brother Delbert Gray. Gray and his wife, Kaye, reside in Memphis. He is a graduate of Louisville Bible College and holds a bachelor’s degree in ministry and completed his master’s degree at LBC.

  • TELL CITY – The annual Evangelical United Church of Christ bazaar will be held from 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1 in fellowship hall.
    The bazaar will be an old fashion breakfast with homemade biscuits and sausage gravy, German fried potatoes, scrambled eggs, toast, sausage patties, coffee and orange juice available.
    There will also be a country store featuring homemade baked items, candy, canned fruit and vegetables, relish, jellies, pickles and craft items.
    The public is invited to attend.

  • TELL CITY – Ben Rake and his wife of 46 years, Linda, began serving Tell City Community Christian Church, 821 10th St., Tell City Aug. 21. The Rakes recently moved from Winchester, Ky., where they had served Forest Grove Christian Church for 10 years and earlier, Belmont Church of Christ for 17 years. In 1982 and 1983, the Rakes had served at Tell City Church of Christ.

  • Kelton Aubrey won the Tiny Indian Chief title and Rylyn Aubrey won the Tiny Indian Princess title at the Sacajawea Festival in Cloverport, Ky., Sept. 1. The twins are 3 years old, and the children of Ryun and Brandy Aubrey of Tell City.

  • Ty Allen Gelarden
    Shane and Kesha Gelarden of Tell City announce the birth of their son, Ty Allen Gelarden, Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at The Women’s Hospital in Newburgh.
    The infant weighed 6 pounds, 10 ounces and was 20 inches long.
    Mrs. Gelarden is the former Kesha Flamion.
    Grandparents are John Gelarden of Tell City, Patty and Rick Nantz of Evansville, Mary O’Neal of Tell City and Kevin and Debra Flamion of Tell City.
    Great-grandparents are Merl and Irene Gelarden of Tell City.

  • Sarah Carver Smith and Derek Smith were united in marriage during an evening ceremony Saturday, July 2, 2011, at Christ United Methodist Church in Georgetown.

    The bride is the daughter of Elmer and Gail Carver of Corydon. Mr. Smith is the son of Kerry and Susan Smith of Corydon.
    The bride was given away in marriage by her father in a double-ring ceremony officiated by the Rev. Sandy Cooper.
    Chrissy Tuchscherer was chosen as the matron of honor. Bridesmaid was Hannah Hammack and junior bridesmaid was Michelle Smith, sister of the groom.

  • Jennifer Stowe of Cannelton and Chris Coyle of Tell City announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

    The bride-elect is the daughter of Pamela Stowe-Rogier of Cannelton and the late Barry Stowe. She is a 2004 graduate of Cannelton High School and a 2009 graduate of Indiana University Southeast with a bachelor’s degree in business.
    She works as the community relations coordinator for VNA Plus Home Care and Hospice in Tell City.

  • Angel Kleeman of Troy and Nathan Rogier of Tell City announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

    The bride-elect is the daughter of Angela Kleeman of Troy and the late Mark “Flash” Kleeman. She is a 2005 graduate of Heritage Hills High School and is employed at Deaconess Clinic as a pediatric nurse.
    Mr. Rogier is the son of James and Myrna Rogier of Tell City. He is a 2002 graduate of Perry Central High School and works as a production group leader at ATTC Manufacturing in Tell City.
