  • Tell City American Legion Auxiliary Post 213 installed new officers for the 2012-13 year.

  • TELL CITY – Local resident Robert Sprinkle is the 2012 recipient of the Lyle Mamer Fellowship. The fellowship is awarded annually by the Women’s International Network of Utility Professionals to students pursuing post-graduate degrees which will lead to careers in the energy industry or allied fields.
    Sprinkle will attend either Indiana University or Indiana University-Purdue University to pursue a master of arts degree in public affairs.

  • INDIANAPOLIS – Haley Machen of Sebree, Ky., was one of more than 80 delegates who attended the 81st State 4-H Junior Leader Conference at the University of Indianapolis.

    During the conference, the delegates participated in leadership development skill sessions, small group discussions, group recreation and team building activities. Each delegate will now be able to return home and implement some of these ideas into their local communities, a news release said.   • John H. and Fannie B. Roberson of Canton, Ga., formerly of Derby, were honored with a surprise 70th wedding anniversary party June 27 at the Lodge at Bridgemill, where they now live.
    The event was hosted by their children and grandchildren and everyone at the Lodge was invited. About 60 people attended to congratulate the couple and to hear the singer Raquel Buspos, who sang the couple’s favorite songs.

  • Teresa R. Smith and Jason R. Feeback of Cannelton announce the birth of their daughter, Danica Raelynn Feeback, Friday, June 15, 2012, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City.
    The infant weighed 5 pounds, 9 ounces and was 18 inches long.
    The mother is the former Teresa R. Petro. Danica has two older siblings, Elijah W. Smith, 16, and Madalyn K. Smith, 12.
    Grandparents are Danny and Cindy Feeback and Charlene Eades, all of Cannelton.

  • Ashley Marie Muston of Indianapolis and Wesley Ryan Zellers of Cannelton were united in marriage during an outdoor afternoon ceremony Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Spring Mill Park in Mitchell.

    The bride is the daughter of Mark and Faith Muston of Indianapolis. Mr. Zellers is the son of Denny and Carol Zellers of Cannelton.
    The bride was given in marriage by her father in a double-ring ceremony officiated by C.J. Muston, cousin of the bride.

  • Rachel Esarey, formerly of Leopold, and Scott Solomon of Scottsdale, Ariz., were united in marriage during an evening ceremony Saturday, April 28, 2012, at the residence of Tom and Wiletta Solomon in Scottsdale.

    The bride is the daughter of Norvin and Trudy Esarey of Leopold. Mr. Solomon is the son of Tom and Wiletta Solomon of Scottsdale.
    The bride was given in marriage by her father during the double-ring ceremony officiated by Pastor Jason Fritz.

  • Cortney Cail and Justin Roby were united in marriage during an afternoon ceremony Saturday, May 19, 2012, at the Perry County 4-H Fairgrounds in Tell City.

    The bride is the daughter of Gary and Marilyn Hubert of Tell City and Rick and Theresa Cail of Grandview. Mr. Roby is the son of Randy and Robin Roby of Owensboro, Ky.
    The bride was given in marriage by her father and mother during the double-ring ceremony officiated by John Smitson.
    Special music was performed by Leo Gronquist. Selections sung included “Oh My Love” by John Lennon.

  • CANNELTON – During the 175th anniversary of the city of Cannelton and its annual Heritage Fest, the Cannelton Foundation will sponsor the inaugural Miss Heritage Fest Pageant at 10 a.m. Oct. 13 at the Covered Wagon in Cannelton.
    Winners will be crowned in each category and a trophy will be presented for each runner-up. Categories are Miss, 7- to 9-year olds; Miss Pre-Teen, 10- to 12-year-olds; Miss Teen, 13- to 15-year-olds and Miss Heritage Fest, 16- to 19-year-olds.

  • Michael and Mary Schriefer of Santa Claus celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary June 24, 2012.

    Michael C. “Mike” Schriefer and Mary E. Oeding were married June 24, 1972, in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, Ferdinand. The Rev. Firmus Dick officiated.
    The Schriefers have two children, Matthew of Newburgh and Maria (Mrs. Damian) Koch of rural Boonville. They also have a granddaughter, Elizabeth Koch.
