  • Kimberly Butler of Ola-the, Kan., and Ryan McDan-iel of Merrillville were united in marriage during an afternoon ceremony held Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Lifeway Baptist Church in Ellettsville.

  • Earl and Martha Miller of Tell City celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary June 3, 2012.
    Mr. Miller married the former Martha Wiederkehr June 3, 1967, at St. Meinrad Catholic Church.

    The couple are the parents of Pat Miller and his wife, Carlene of Apex, N.C., and Frank Miller and his wife, Christie of Philpot, Ky. They have one grandchild, Cecelia Miller.

  • Carl and K. Jeanene Champion of Tell City plan to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary June 29, 2012, with their family.

    Mr. Champion and the former K. Jeanene Haynes were married June 29, 1952, at Trinity Methodist Church in Rockport.
    They are the parents of Carla K. Weatherholt of Rotonda Way, Fla., and Jeffrey L. Champion and Camilla J. Ayer, both of Santa Claus. They have five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
    Mr. Champion is retired from Maxon Marine Industries and K. Jeanene is retired from General Electric.

  • Wes and Bev Wilson of Tell City celebrated their first wedding anniversary June 14, 2012.

    Mr. Wilson and the former Bev Harris were married during a private ceremony June 14, 2011, in Clearwater Beach, Fla.
    The couple has three children, Shelby G. Wilson, Deacon W. Wilson and Bishop C. Wilson.
    Mr. Wilson is the son of Ronald Wilson and Paula Wilson of Rockport. Mrs. Wilson is the daughter of William Terry and Traci Harris of Tobinsport.

  • St. Isidore the Farmer’s Catholic Church held first communion May 6.

  • TELL CITY – First United Methodist Church, Tenth and Mozart streets, and St. Paul Catholic Church, Jefferson and Main streets, together invite children ages 4 through students who have completed the fourth grade to vacation Bible school June 25 through June 28.
    Children ages 4 to 5 and kindergartners who have just completed kindergarten will attend Bible school from 9:15 to 11:15 A.M. at the Methodist Church. First through fourth grades will attend at St. Paul Church from 9 to 11:30 a.m.

  • Little Pigeon to host gospel sing Saturday
    LAMAR – Little Pigeon Baptist Church, located two-tenths of a mile east of Highway 231 on 1250 N., will host a gospel sing Saturday.
    Refreshments will be served at 6 p.m. and the singing will begin at 7. Guest singers will be Harvest Gold.
    All are welcome to attend.

  • Kenny and Rhonda Schaefer of Bristow will celebrate their 21st wedding anniversary Thursday, June 14, 2012, (today).

    Mr. Schaefer married the former Rhonda Hubert June 4, 1991. The couple has one daughter, Jennifer Weatherholt.
    Mr. Schaefer is a truck driver for Automated Routing and Mrs. Schaefer owns and operates Schaefer Farms.

  • TELL CITY – A follow-up meeting for this year’s Schweizer Fest pageant will be at 6 p.m. Monday at the Evangelical United Church of Christ. Applications for contestants can be picked up at Cinderella’s, 922 Main Street in Tell City. Those wishing to compete must live or work in Perry County. Age groups are as follows: Princess, 9 to 11 years; Junior Miss, 12 to 15 years; Teen, 16 to 19 years and Miss, 20 to 22 years. For more information, contact Teresa Dauby at 547-1051 or 719-0577. All applications are due by Wednesday.

  • Bridget Marie Gehlhausen of Bristow and Jason Michael Schmitt of Jasper announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

    The bride-elect is the daughter of Roch and Marlene Gehlhausen of Bristow. She is a 2006 graduate of Perry Central High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Southern Indiana in 2012. She works at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper and St. Mary Medical Center in Evansville.
